Re: 2021/22 Prediction League; Game 10 v Oxford United (home)

Shurm Stretches His Lead As Pessimists Prosper

There are times when helping to run this competition becomes downright depressing

..... but at least it's encouraging when everybody on the list (standfast Morecambe Red obvs) has a go, as happened last night . And you spread your bets, 11 staying loyal , 9 on the fence and 9 correctly predicting disaster , though nobody envisaged the total scale of the disaster .

Most of the pessimists added to their haul by thinking we'd score one too, thereby clocking up 4 points . First amongst these equals was Shurm, increasing his lead over Nige B at the top of our heap to 4. Next up, from 4th to 3rd, was Taypot, with Stevie R, 6= to 4th, in close pursuit. The other high rollers came from further down, Tommy McQueen improving from 22= to 20th, Stanleyhouse from 27th to 23rd, and Kiwi John 28th to 26th.

Three point movers were StanleyJosh and Monkey Hanger, moving in lock step from 10= to 7=, and LongLostSon making the biggest leap from 21st to 12=. Seven more of you picked up a single point for our consolation, and may therefore have slipped past some of the twelve who didn't. The table will tell you .....

So its Ipswich and Fleetwood next, both at home and currently 19th and 20th , but only 3 points behind with better goal differences . One gets the feeling that we need to get back to winning ways pdq .....

On Stanley On!!
