2025/26 Prediction League Game 7 v Cheltenham Town (away)

Five sides yet to win in League Two, including us and them (and last week’s opponents too), plus Crawley and Oldham FourDraws

Last season The Robins - as opposed to the other two lots of Robins - finished in 15th place off a record of P46 W16 D12 L18 GF60 GA70: they beat us 2-1 at theirs, and we managed a Goalless Desmond at ours…… six players left, six joined up (including CF Lee Angol from Morecambe Phoenix and Notts County’s CB Robbie Cundy), and seven on loan. Angol is now on his 10th “permanent” League side.

This season they’re stone last of 24, with one draw last time out and five losses before that; they’ve managed two goals (same as the Shrews) and conceded 12, including a 5-0 drubbing at the MK Doughnuts (we’ve scored 3 and let in six)

Top of the table (I wish) is Gillingham on 14 points, followed by Chesterfield on 13 and four teams- Bromley, Crewe, Swindon and Walsall - on 12….. I was pleased to see that Crewe did TwistySpires Utd 7-1 very recently, which is apparently Mr Cook’s worst-ever loss as a Manager ……. Well done those Railwaymen!

Losing to Cheltenham, it seems to me, would be like winning two tickets in a raffle for a cruise on the Lusitania…… Think on, You Red Men…..

And isn’t it time Paddy Madden scored?

In the interests of STANLEY getting a first league win, and for that reason only, 2-1 Cheltenham.

Our record when playing bottom sides away has been abysmal during Doolan’s tenure.
Cheltenham 2 Stanley 1

Strange-looking line-up. I wonder who will play where? But maybe it’s a good sign!?
