No bums at Burtons

Just read the ground update. Looks like we won't be seeing bums in Burtons for a bit yet. Might be worth getting along for a raincoat for next season though!

Pity the cover has to play second fiddle to all the stuff that "officialdom" requires, but what has to be . . . :o

Re: No bums at Burtons

Three years ago Eric stated in the programme that the first priority was a roof on the Clayton End. Since then the bar has been improved, the Gazelle lounge has appeared, new toilets at the Coppice End, now other improvements are being done, NO ROOF. If/when we get promoted we need to attract more fans, PEOPLE WILL NOT COME TO THE GAME IF THEY ARE IN DANGER OF GETTING WET. If it looks like rain we will certainly have a poor gate. Even if it adds 100 on to each home game, at £12.00 each this comes to £27600 for a season. We have been promised this roof for over three years. What is the situation ? According the the official site a presentation and question and answer night will be held on Tuesday at 7.30pm - what a coincidence that at that time a lot of interested parties will be at Morecambe.

Might have missed reading something in the article, just scanned through and not seen it but....

I thought the away fans had to have some seats for thier supporters?

Also what would be good for next season is...
----- Box/Euro nets (which most clubs have and its really smart rather than the type we have
----- WHITE netting, the netting we currectly have isnt right good and you cant see it form the other side of the ground.
----- Thicker Posts, iv never known why we got these new goalposts which are very thin compared to 99% of other clubs.
----- Finally a better pitch please :)

Thats all for now ;) :D

I've heard something about away fans needing seats, but I believe you are given a period of 3 years to sort this out. What the club are doing at the mo, is the stuff that NEEDS to be done before we enter the football league.

Nets??? andThicker posts??? Not really a huge problem is it to be honest, tight budget and all that!

Better pitch we have got a great pitch but we just need to cut down on the amount of games played on it..but this also create increased revenue

therefore im sure all these ideas will be at the back of anyones mind!

certain things required in order to play a higher level of football, FINE.
again refusing to adhere to the needs of long suffering fans, NOT FINE.

I know that some people will just go with the flow and the club knows best. I for one am really annoyed at the failure to cover us. We will now be in that end for ninety minutes every week. If the wind is blowing the right way then fine, if the wind is in your face it will be like that for nearly two hours. If you can move round then you only get the worst of the elements for a while but two hours is too much. FINE I'm a whinging git and the club can manage without my season ticket next year, but, its not just me. Its not just an extra couple of hundred fans paying £12+ every week, its the fans who will desert in their hundreds when the weather sets in. This is our one and only moment to really capitalise on the fans that will stream through the door when we return to league football after 44 years. This year we have struggled with crowds except the last couple of matches raising the average. People have seen us play in the conference but the lack of facilities did not encourage them back. The lack of atmosphere (despite the best efforts of the Ultras) did not encourage them back.

I want that roof. I do not count. WE NEED that roof. Do we count?

It's going to be a bit cramped on Whinney Hill when it rains.

Give them the roof, I cherish my peace and quiet.

unless you pays your money to get in the Eastern half of the Western half of the Whinney Hill Stand you wont get in there.

Pesonally i think this situation has been dealt with very poorly, Why the delay in informing the fans on the roof situation.

O.K., I appreciate we have to prioritise esential work on the ground but i would like the club to come forward with the time schedule. It says within the statement(vaigley) work on the roof will start once other jobs are completed...

When are the expected completion dates?

Is there any chance the roof will be started before the start of next season?

A little more DETAIL required please.

Macca for Ultras Roof Committee President

The Terrace will be a duller place with no flags next year, not petty but the just get soaked dirty etc etc all season. That roof is vital for the clubs survival I reckon, cause if results don't go our way the fans won't come again but this time we will have League 2 overheads

If the money is there, we must build it. It if its not then tell us now & we can get used to the idea. False promises are worse then the truth, we've been building it for years now!!!

Where's the Roof!!!!
