Re: Barry dingle kilby
Maths isn't my strong point, but, yes, I can see. Just think it's a very, very rough estimate, which could be affected by all sorts of variables. Whatever, it's still very bad news for Stanley, as I've been told that Rovers will only be playing seven home matches on a Saturday this season!

Re: Barry dingle kilby
What you shouting at AccyRed&Blue? Actually to have supported Stanley since you were born you would have to be 44 or older or if you have supported the side since '68 then 38 or younger - me I fall into the 44 or older category. and what the hell has Greg Pope got to do with it. The whole point of the argument is that there are more Burnley/Stanley fans than Rovers/Stanley fans and as Rovers are in Europe playing games on a Sunday would not necessitate the Police having too many problems with 2 games in the same Police Division (eastern) on the same day. Even so, i could see Eric looking at the possibility of playing games on a Friday night - as that bumped up the attendances last year.

Re: Barry dingle kilby
When Stanley played Crewe in the FA Cup at Ewood the attendance was double than when Stanley played Scunthorpe at Turd Moor "Fact"
I rest my case :Banane47: |
Re: Barry dingle kilby
Rest your case all you want but Burnley bring more fans to Stanley currently than Rovers "FACT" :)
|
Re: Barry dingle kilby
It is not a "fact" that burnley currently bring more fans than rovers it is an "opinion" which means it is not known for sure who do actually bring more fans so this is a pointless topic but I will go back to my FACT stated above in which the figures state who do bring more supporters numbers speak louder than words at the end of the day a burnley fan is going to say they bring more fans and the same for rovers but there is proof that rovers bring more
ACCY STANLEY FAN :engsmil: :engsmil: :engsmil: :Banane25: :Banane25: :engsmil: :engsmil: :engsmil: |

Re: Barry dingle kilby
Isn't it great when Rovers and Burnley fans are arguing over who brings more people to watch Stanley :D
|
Re: Barry dingle kilby
im not arguing for either team as I support stanley ONLY but when I go to matches there seems to be alot more rovers fans there than burnley and I know fans from both teams by the way as I am neutral to burnley and rovers it just seems to me that blackburn bring more support to stanley

no the point is that rovers bring more support to stanley than burnley fans IMO |
Re: Barry dingle kilby
my opinion of the Turf Moor/Ewood park games is that the attendance was affected by the fact that very few of the Rovers orientated Stanleyites would step foot inside Turf Moor, whereas the Burnley fans didn't give a toss and went to the game at Ewood anyway. This is fact based on only the people that I know.
As far as losing revenue is concerned it is reasonably unarguable as many Burnley fans who go to Stanley have told me they will probably watch more Stanley games this year as a result of our league status, more appealing fixtures and the ability to stand and watch matches rather than sit at an increasingly un-atmospheric Turf Moor (I also think Ewood is rather souless unless you are amongst the favoured few on the Darwen end). I am under 30 and have only ever supported Stanley even as a six year old when replica shirts were unavailable so I had to rip the Crown Paints of a Liverpool shirt as that was the most similar. I have watched one Burnley match because I had a free ticket (I sat with the Leicester fans) and one Rovers match where me and my nephew left early because in his words (ten year old) its not like watching Stanley. Get back to plastic-ville Rovers fan. |
