Non League Closure
to mark the passing of our non-league status and our return to club of 92 Chimer posted this idea

the idea is a good one and we are planning to do it. At the moment the plan is to meet around 6:45 at Peel Park. We will set off shortly afterwards. We hope to have a convoy of cars and foot pedestrians with flags, air horns, THE DRUMS, and anything that displays your passion and enthusiasm for Stanley. We are hoping to have the Angels with us, and I think somebody was talking to the pipe band. As part of Red and White Fortnight this will get plenty of publicity from The Bee, 2BR, Rock FM, Lancashire Telegraph and the Observer. All are welcome and absolutely definitely the more the merrier. If you wish to take part in this buthave difficulty walking and do not have transport PM me and I will try to find somebody who can include you in their section of the convoy. This is not going to be like a carnival where we meander through the streets. We will be taking the most direct route to the ground possible along Alice St, Thorneyholme Road and Ribblesdale. This will also mean the least possible disruption to traffic. 10 cars or less is not worth doing. 20 cars with walkers would be okay but still a disgrace considering the reason why. Over 30 cars with flags and noise and a Pipe Band and dancing girls would be a moment to behold. Maybe a vicar to recite some prayers and bless the team before we leave? |
Re: Non League Closure
Procession fingy...I think you need to contact the police if you havent already...
|
Re: Non League Closure
Yeah it crossed my mind, gonna get on it tomorrow.
Although advertising it and then having the police pull it would create twice the exposure and an uproar.............. |
Re: Non League Closure
100% on it tommoz.. let us know what they say... and fingers crossed :)

What about the plane?
I believe Willie Miller organised it. cost was about 600quid, 10 of the ultras paid 60quid each. Saw one last week going round over cackburn it read "mumtaz halal baby food" |
Re: Non League Closure
I’ll bang in a tenner for the plane “Small Donation but it can be increased if people don’t stick enough in”
I’ll drive in the procession, and I’ll be on my todd so three seats are vacant (No Drinks and No Smokers and No Food) in the car. |
Re: Non League Closure
been to the local poilice station who have told me to put my request in writing detailing who what why when where and how many>?
Doing that now but how many should I say? |
Re: Non League Closure
Although the idea is a brilliant one, have you got time to organise such a parade of fans. I for one cannot do the Tuesday night, although I will be at the match, but unless I can finish work about an hour earlier, then I cannot do the parade. Police are notoriously slow in getting things arranged, although I think it will only be the lights at the end of Alice St and onto Queens Road plus the turning onto Thorneyholme that will need to be policed, but be prepared to pay for the services.

Re: Non League Closure
we'll see what they say first and then do an impromptu one anyway
|
Re: Non League Closure
A processon of milk floats might add to the occassion,it would certanly be eye catching and those less able to walk could ride on them.

Re: Non League Closure
why dont you get some posters on the fishy site :) or change the poster for darlington game to include the walk from peel park to advertise it once you get permission off the police :) youll have to hurry up as time flies and dont forget the media like granada lancs telegraoh etc
