|
Re: missed the boat

|
Re: missed the boat
Off fishy site Stanley sign French goalkeeper
|
Re: missed the boat
You can check on the BBC lad's, no McLean, Perkins OR Donaldson.
Although Coley has my full backing, i can't help feeling a little dissapointed that he has'nt brought in a weekly scorer, which i though Aaron was. |
Re: missed the boat
It ain't that easy lads I'm sure he was trying but Accrington ain't the easiest of places to attract players 2!
Remember Stanley can still loan folk for 3 months...... & another 3 months etc etc as we did with Sir Robert Elliott |
Re: missed the boat
Yeagh but your so easliy pleased Jase..... theres no getting away from it.. fans will be dissapointed..
|
Re: missed the boat
Even if we signed Zenidine Zidane the general followers of Stanley would still complain "pies cold" "programme has same pictures" "Mullin too old" "MAngan too young" "Not enough goalies" "Too many keepers" "Too noisy" "Atmosphere rubbish"
If we all just decided that we were gonna concentrate all our efforts on encouragement for the club, players, other fans etc then the place would be a much better place to be Moaners?! If I wanted to hear that I'd still be married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:not_ripe: |
Re: missed the boat
:) :p ;) pure class comment mr miller

Re: missed the boat
if you dont want to read post moaning then a messageboard isnt the place to be.. you know that
as for your comments...it was deadline day.. theres been no real signings and people will be dissapointed.. I dont believe for one second that you dont agree with that statement so why throw a paddy..... bit ironic dont you think think ..throw a paddy about people moaning ?:) cammy... seeing as your joining in... tell the truth.. where you dissapointed at no signings.. |
Re: missed the boat
Its true !
We've gone from Unibond 1 to the Football League! People laughed when Eric said he'd get us there & although we were very lucky last year we have done it! Yet, when you stand on the terrace, or observe the main stand, or read comments on here or chat to some people you'd think we'd had 3 relegations! This year we'll play Forest, Watford, Brizzle Rovers, Walsall, Swindon, Peterborough etc etc Enjoy the Ride people. Get off the clubs back, bite your lip, encourage, volunteer, praise, shout, clap, generate ideas, invite friends & colleagues, be proud of YOUR local FOOTBALL team. Everything this season is a learning curve & everyone is trying their obvious best. At the moment, in our town, their ain't much else to be proud about. But it saddnes me that five games in to our first year back I've heard fans slag the players off, players who created history & will forever be put on a pedestal for that. We are Accrington Stanley & very proud of it! But at times it feels like we are supporting just for a moan:confused: :engsmil: |

And to answer the original question, yes I do think we've missed out by not adding to the squad. However, with what I've learnt recently about running a lower league club, I fully understand the difficult balancing act required to keep Stanley afloat and I point no fingers. |
Re: missed the boat
There's difference between football discussion & openly screaming abuse at our own
I'm all for constructive criticism :) |
Re: missed the boat
I agree. Roberts bashing is the latest craze. He could beat three men and hit the top corner from 30 yards and you'd still probably hear "Greedy b*****d, he should have passed!!!":)
Also, anyone noticed how it's always the wingers that get the most flack? First it was Russell, then Rory, and now Gazza.;) And as to the original question. I believe it may have been a case of no loose change to get on the boat rather then missing it. |
Re: missed the boat
:) i only asked ?well seeing he isnt signing any strikers who would you want on loan:confused: i think coley is taking a gamble by not signing any strikers youve got to build on your squad in this league ..........and im not winging just saying:D
|
Re: missed the boat
I think we were all hoping that a new striker would be on his way, but i`ve no doubt that it would`nt have been for the lack of trying, we are a small club with limited funds, and rome wasn`t built in a day, so lets not dwell to much on it and lets get on with giving our support to the lads that are playing.
PS. Yes i would rather be at Lincoln instead of just getting in from work, but theres always the radio i guess. |

I Agree with Criticism but ffs Kick em while their down  Why Not Encourage em by saying "Your Better Than That Gary" Alot better and more encouragement Keep The Faith :D |

100% AGREE.. I think everyone is allowed there opinion on here about players.. good or bad so long as it isn't abuse. But I have never agreed with attacking your own players from the terrace and in nearly 40 years of watching football I ahve NEVER booed a player. |
Re: missed the boat
Quite agree Kipax. Shouting abuse during a game doesn't do anything to help the team. It doesn't make players improve. If anything, it makes the player perform less well.
The messageboard is a different thing. It's like a virtual pub, and I'm sure we've all been critical when we're down the pub chatting with friends. ;) |
Re: missed the boat
last night was a prime example why coleys missed the boat.......
|
Re: missed the boat
Must admit I was gutted when Tevez went to West Ham.
|
Re: missed the boat
I think the Argies went to whoever offered the lowest bid, why was Eric not in there waving his chequebook and £50 cheque guarantee card?

Thought the reception at Lincoln last night was excellent. One of the stewards was a Notts County fan, we should get a good reception there after the Forest result. NOTTS COUNTY v ACCRINGTON, can't wait. STANLEY ARE BACK |
Re: missed the boat
I heard Steve Claridge on local radio this morning. He's 37 now and is a free agent. He's made 999 professional appearances so needs just one more for his thousand. He was hoping that Portsmouth might give him a game but would Coley consider him?
