Re: OSC Meeting monday 9th

In a nutshell, most things have been deferred to next month when the new regime will be in place. Macca voted as chairman, Sparkie as Vice, Spud as Secretary and Macca again as membership secretary.

Finances discussed and a list of income and expenditure given out to all comers. Meeting about to be be finalised when Macca remembered that a Churchillian speech was needed. Not quite the galvanising speech that I anticpitated but nonetheless the 25 (double the average) members present were left in no doubt that things can and will change.

I hope that everybody there heard enough to encourage them back next month. Especially Zero and Ian, nice to see you lads.

The club can only move on from its present situation if people are willing to get involved and do something about it. Willie, I stated in my post after Timmins that you do not need to be a member to have input. You need to be a member to have a vote. And that is right cos that partially protects against an influx of Barrow fans coming down and voting for whatever they want. To a degree. However if enough members vote that this is a stupid rule then next year it will not exist.

The club on the field is performing somewhere close to a maximum.

The support on the terrace via the Ultras is somewhere near maximum.

The support via the OSC is not. This needs to be addressed. Almost every person present tonight nodded their heads when it was mooted that the Ultras could do with being on board. The comment, after I was elected and took my seat at the front, was that in this new dawn where are the Ultras? I put my hand up and mentioned that I was one. Kinda spoilt the point, but the point was made. The Ultras are now respected amongst not only our fans but the community both local and wider football. We need your presence. Through just me, Frank and Spud wasn't totally adequate.

Thats three voices to start with. Bring your thoughts to the table. The revolution has begun, you dont need to pay your fiver to join in order to have your say. Your registration fee is there as a fixed donation to the club. The important thing is your voice, your ideas, and your input.

I dont want people to have negative vibes about the supporters club. You got a problem with it you PM me. I will try to resolve it.

I dont want negativety anywhere near the club. Instead of reason why we cant do something, I want reasons why we can.

I dont want unreasonable debate about unreasonable subject. Give me something positive to talk about and I will shoot down discussion about picture frames and butties.

This is not my club, its not my view that counts. If my view is right but more people disagree than agree, I count for nowt. Many people shook their heads earlier on tonight. How many will shake their heads next month? Do we need to have treasurer reports? If people ask, then yes. If people dont ask, then no. We will summarise on a sheet paper that is available for people to look at. Do we need to summarise the last meeting via minutes? Yes, so that people who were not present then can be informed as to what went on. But, can this be done via e-mail? via letter? via asking your mate who did go? via newsletter given out at the start of the meeting? THESE ARE ALL THINGS THAT WOULD SPEED UP THE MEETING. If you want this to happen then come along and voice it.

Should we have a raffle between attendees? Everybody pays 50p (if they want to) and the winner gets half, the club gets half. Tonight would of been £12.50 or £137.50 over the year.

Should the OSC year run from May to May, so that new committees and new ideas are in place before the start of the new season?

Should I shut up now? Probably.

This has to be a record. First day in the job and the promised transparency goes down the pan. All complaints or awkward questions to be done by private message.

get real Someone. I dont want negativety so I ask that you bring your grievance to me rather than air it where all and sundry can read it and all you want to do is pick at it?

The transparency is in the secrecy of what goes on rather than what isn't going on.

My post covers it quite well I think. Lets not spoil it on the honeymoon plese darling.

Re: OSC Meeting monday 9th

My absence tonight was pure neglect on my part. However, I would like to voice my gratitude to the outgoing board, on the four or five occasions that I got over for the OSC meetings I was always made welcome and was included in the discussions that took place. I need not name any individual I have met through the OSC because each and everyone are included in the aforementioned sentiment. That said one special mention for the assistance and support of Steve Baker. Thanks Steve.

To those whom have taken up responsibility for the future of Accrington Stanley Official Supporters Club. Welcome. I have little doubt that you will all put the Club and the Supporters at the forefront of your efforts and thought. It’s not a new dawn, but the opening of a new chapter for ASFC and the OSC, God speed and may you all be successful in your endeavours.

Incidentally, a new job sees me dragging my arse between Blackpool, Burnley (via Accy) Oldham and soon Bury. This as led to two missed home games and little attention to the OSC. This will change after the mid part of the month when I expect to have settled down and got back to my old self. See you on the 17th.

Good Luck with the Revolution Comrades

Willie, the whole idea of joining is so that you CAN and will have a voice in what goes on at the OSC. As Rob stated last night, we do NOT want the us and them syndrome, we want and NEED to come together as one for the good of the club. Yes I know the Ultras have been fantastic over the years and have a good name amongst other clubs, but as they say, a new broom sweeps clean, lets give Rob and the new committee a chance, I for one will (along with my partner) and assist in taking the club forward off the field (so to speak). Ideas have been banded around but the only way to get something is to be there at the meetings become a member and suggest it. As was stated last night, out of the total membership of approximately 240, the majority are out of town and members abroad! This cannot be right surely. Lets all get behind the new committee and spread the word.

Yes it does fella - you have to shirk what I am assuming after all these major changes, an unwanted reputation thats been stuck to the OSC for as long as I can remember anyway, and thats gonna take some doing - Im hoping you and the rest of the new committee can do just that..

While I have only a few visits to the ground (due to work commitments mostly) I have to wish the new start for the OSC is a good start. Some of the things that have been talked about seem to make sense ie Membership year May-May.

Good luck to ALL concernered and lets see if new blood (so to speak) will get some others intrested and coming to be members (paying or non-paying) to help.
