I have to say we completely outplayed Shrewsbury for the majority of the game and got a point for our troubles. How the defender who brought down Paul Mullin for our penalty in the first half stayed on the pitch I do not know, he was clearly the last defender and PM was through on goal, should have walked. Fortune-West (No 29) was an absolute disgrace all match and got away with everthing as did the diving and cheating Asamoah and I have to disagree TM it was a blatant dive. We got very little out this official and what was even more laughable, during the second half, the ref blew for a foul against one of our players and 4-5 seconds later as the ball trickled over the sidelines the liner flags for a throw to us even though the kick had not been taken. Personally, I think JC was a bit naive this afternoon and should have had McGivern on far sooner that the last 10 or so minutes. Mangan played well but tired early in the second half. Congrats to Phil Edwards on getting his first Stanley goal. Very poor crowd again, we need another red and white fortnight before next Saturday to try and pep up the crowd figures. (and before anyone says it, I know it is only a week away). Not sure what Rocky's position was today but a flare footballer he ain't, however, he has to be forgiven, that sublime goal at the end of the match was one for the scrap books (good to see the ref play on here. One time he called it right)

I think we should get christmas over we and get a roof on clayton end and then do a recruitment drive again IMHO

The ref at first was a total complete w@*k#r , the penalty was a complete dive! However we came back fighting at got a penalty back so i was happy about that , but for stanley to come out at half time at the score 2-1 was not very good but i though the two wingers andy todd and a new guy i think was mcdonald please correct me if not right:D did so well and when Leighton McGivern came on he did great trying to thread mullin through and his pieces of trickery. i thought stanley had a great game but gave the goals easily and should of defended more towards the last 10 minutes of the game!

Surely McGivern has to start next week - he looks dangerous and aggressive running at defenders, a real handful who tested their goalie with a great strike during his short spell on the pitch. I thought Rocky looked lost out of position in midfield, though, although it was a real quality finish for the goal - how many times do you see those sail over the bar?
100% effort again from the lads - how anyone can leave before the end in a tight finish is something I can never, ever understand.

i know why why do they leave early pure plonkers its like buying a book and ripping the last 2 pages out...how many yellow cards has bav had this season? does it mean hes going to have game ban at sometime.

I'd actually like to see Rocky and Mangan play together in midfield... IMO Mangan played some of his best football today, I've never been a fan of his but today he did some decent link up play and I believe he would do this more if he got the idea that a striker must run forward head down and threw all the defence out of his head. Again, Rocky looked a bit shaky in midfield today however I can see what Coleman sees with playing him there, I think that give a few games in the position and he could turn good.

McGivern was a nice addition today, a start next week is a must. Another person I believe deserves a start is Rob Elliot. Stanley have two sublime keepers, IMO it should be when one makes a mistake, the other gets a shot, this way we get the most in-form keeper each game. Dunbavin has made a few mistakes recently, and he doesn't command the defence half as well as Elliot does, so give Rob a chance.

All in all a promising performance today and look forward to a win against Dons ;)

Shrewsbury's penalty claims for the first goal looked pretty tenuous.

The result was a tribute to the team's determination to get something out of the game.

WHY????

rockys best position is as centre back, although he was a centre midfielder when he come to us, i still think he is a better defender than he is a midfielder

Mangan is a striker, Best playing on the shoulder of centre backs, when ever i have seen him in midfield this seems to ruin his game

Good performance yesterday we had some of the fight and battle back in the team, bring on Plastic FC

Why? Mullin sticks out a leg and trips him. You can see that on the tv.

It appears to be the consensus and my first inclination having seen it in real time was to go along with that view.

Since you mention it I will review the tape in slow motion and look out for the leg.

I just saw the goals on the link provided, and I must say that Dunbavins kick was a disgrace. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but has he not done that before? By all accounts we have a perfectly good keeper getting splinters!.If I was incharge,I would give Dunbavin the DCM.

Last season against Stevenage at the FES a goal kick by Rob Elliot was blown backwards and they scored from the chance that followed on from that.

I have viewed the frames. You are correct.

Paul Mullin's right leg did cut across his left leg.

He appeared to anticipate it by raising his leg.

In the next frame he appears to be past Paul Mullin's leg but still on his feet. I say appears because the picture quality of my video still is poor.

It all happened very fast and I suppose he would say that clipping Paul Mullin's foot caused a downward momentum that took him off his feet despite his best efforts to resist it.

Thought we played exactly as we have in the past few games, yet we managed a draw from this one. Thats the way football is. Lots have been commenting that we are awful & much stronger words are used all the time.

My thoughts are that we are playing good football at times but lack the necessary cutting edge now Gary & Ian are gone & desperately need a settled back four & a few clean sheets. I remember when we first went into the conference & used to get 0-0 draws away from home against the bigger teams. We need to go back to that formula asap!

As far as how we then win @ home, I believe our problem now lies with the 2 central midfielders. Although they play with allm the passion & commitment required in that role, unfortunately, Proccy & Rocky are not as comfortable on the ball as many midfielders in this league (ie Martinez, Drummond) Possession is lost easily & although they'll scrap all day we need the thrust of a Craney or Rommy to start to win games.

Also, both full backs need to be good going forward when you are at home & Danny Ventre struggles at the creative side of his game.

January window..... a proven League centre midfielder, don't break the bank but pay to get some quality back in the centre of the park then we'll be fine.

Peace Out!:p

Their no 29 was a nasty piece of work, high tackles and elbows were his forte, the ref never seemed to see any of it, and their number 10 should go to see a doctor regarding his balance.

A well taken goal by Rocky for our third.

Jacobson played fantasticly, I for one would like to see him continue on the left wing. He is also very good from the dead ball.

It's quite amazing that blinkered view you have!!! First goal was a dive, second was handall... let me guess the third was offside!! it was only a route one punt that allowed you to pick up your first point in six games. I relaise that we are all guilty of a partisan view but come on, you're really not that good and we should have beat you easily. The fact that we didnt was down to rubbish defending with a couple of minutes to go.

Okay his kicking wasnt the best and it caused a goal, but it's funny how quickly you forget the terrific saves he made to keep you in the game and allow you to get a point.

There seems to be a 50/50 split on the Shrewsbury penalty, I still think it was a dive, but some don't.

The second was a definate hand ball, as you and the referee were behind the wrestler you didn't see it.

The third goal was a cracker, and I don't begrudge you it.

How do you feel about your 29 with his swinging elbows and constant kicking at our defenders, even the off the ball incident when he floored Phil Edwards.
