....it all depends upon what was agreed upon paper. I haven't a clue about football league rules relating to loans/transfers, but I would assume that as a commercial transaction they would fall under the usual auspices of contract law. The questions therefore are:

1) Was a set (transfer) fee agreed at the time of Robert's loan to Ipswich?

2) Was this put down in writing and signed off by all parties?

3) Were there any caveats pertaining to possible injury, performance failure or interest by third party clubs?

If, of course, everything was done verbally then I am quite sure that the club would be well within their rights to ask for a figure above the 200K mentioned.

Jim Magilton said that Gary would have potentially cost them a lot more if they had waited to the January Transfer window.

With at least one earlier report and the East Anglian newspaper talking about £200k approx that causes me to think that that's about as much as Stanley will get at first instance.

In the meantime we have got a loan fee reportedly in five figures and hopefully there will be a "Sell On" Clause.

Just to let you know, Ipswich have sacked their Kitman / Coach Driver and are now gonna be using Guess Who......??...Fraser Eagle..!! Yep, for all their coach transport for the 1st Team. Do you think this has been negotiated into the loan agreement?? It's a bit ironic if you ask me, is using a coach firm 280 miles away cost effective??? Gary Roberts on a loan plus use our sponsors for your coach travel and we will cascade some money back to Stanley playing fund..??

Your thoughts

Fraser eagle are nation wide company, they where the ones who helped to evacuate the many people in the london bombings, They sub contract out to alot of companies therefore its probably just by chance that this has happened,

They organise replacement buses for broken down trains on a national basis.

Delia sources her pies from Accrington, think you're just following a trend.

Cost effective, no; but there's a certain cachet.

I wouldn't trust that Haggis, it says Gary is 19!

He joined Accrington Stanley where he was dubbed the Scouse George Best ..........

at least they did their homework on other things. And I'm sure I mentioned once or twice that he will play for Wales....

Thanks for pointing that out.

I don't appear to have heard him called "the Welsh George Best" much either.

It says Scouse George Best owing to his scouseness

Gary got one of the goals in Ipswich's 2 - 2 draw at Cardiff.

Jim Magilton was "pleased with him. He got on the ball well and looked a threat every time he ran at their defence. I'm delighted we have got him at our football club".

According to the Sunday Times, Ipswich have got a "star in the making" with his powerful wing play. But they haven't got him yet!!!!!!!
