You mean there really is an Accrington? And here all this time I thought it was just a clever name for a football team.

I was born in the heart of Church, moving to Fern Gore aged 7 and then leaving for Blackpool at the age of 13. My grandfather was a life long Stanley Supporter until the hurt of 62; he died in 1969 after a long illness never really knowing of Stanley’s return. I have always been a Stanley Supporter the only ever flirtation with another club was when my school mates decided that Stanley wasn’t a real team so I very briefly offered support to Rovers or the Dingle Men, I don’t remember which because it last all of a week, if I couldn’t support Stanley, then it was to be none. I spent years, so many long years defending my Club and my Town from wankers and know now’t’s that thought it fun to take the ****. I came back to the fold and family which is Stanley in 2005/6 season.

Dave, if I nag you to embrace Stanley it to cushion the fall of Burnley as it tumbles into the lower leagues. It might take a year or two but at least with Stanley as a second club you can look forward to watching football in the Championship again.

One more thing Dave, if you are proud of your Home Town and your Home Town Team, you know exactly where we are coming from.

I am not from Accy,nor indeed any part of the UK. I am born and bred down here in NZ.I must've heard something about Stanley when a kid in the 60s as I have always had this'feeling' for them.but until around 5 years ago had no idea a team had been resurrected.The internet a few years ago made it possible for me to find out more about your progress and I was rapt for you when you won the Conference last season.Then I found this forum and here I am.I am hooked.I love Stanley more than any other sports team or hobby I have tried.I only hope that one day I will get to the FES and be able to shout myself 'horse' on the Clayton end.My goal is within 5 years. I was very tempted to fly over for a weekend game and a midweeker a short while back,but I couldn't have taken Mrs Satin and that wouldn't have been fair.:)

Born & bred in Accy (well Clayton to be precise but couldn't really support Clayton Park Rangers could I?) and my great grandad was one of the founder members of the club so Stanley is well & truly in my blood - not sure what happened to my sister though, poor thing fell by the wayside somewhere along the line & supports the dingles - ah well every family has a black sheep :)

I'm a Foreigner!!!

Live in Suffolk, have family in Harwood, Huncoat and Ossy. Lived in Accy for a while moved to Rossendale, worked at Rawtenstall before movin back down south..Ipswich Town primary team but keeping red flag flying here too. Get to Stanley games when in area.

I was born in Accy Vic Hospital, and I've never lived anywhere else but Accy. Lots of my friends will tell you that I used to live in the hospital coz I was in there so often!!!

I was first brought to stanley when I was 7 and will next season celebrate 20years of following the mighty reds.

I was given plenty of opportunity to wander from the chosen path when I was growing up, I'll even admit to owning Liverpool, Man Utd and Norwich shirts. But my dad did it right, he told me to follow players in the top divisions, not teams, I owned those shirts based purely on the fact that my favourite league player played for that club. I was always encouraged to choose stanley as my team.

I remember my grandad telling me I was born here so it was in my blood!!!!(He was born in norwich, but somehow it was in his blood too!!!) That stuck with me and I'm still here. I'll never be anything but a red.

On the 28th of this month it will be 40 years since my first game at the Turf. We got beat 2-0 ( no chnage there then lol ) and played Notts Forest who were second in Division 1 ( some things do change).

So according to my reckoning I was -19 when I went to my first match :D

at six years old I read the newspaper sports pages (Accy Observer) for the first time. I read that a funny named team called Stanley were playing Watford in the North West Counties League. I pestered my dad to take me and three hours later I was cheering the reds on for the first time. Away at Winsford! 24 years later I only get the scores wrong.

Born & bred in Blackburn. Watched my first Rovers game 22 years ago, when Blackburn ran out winners 3-0. I was hooked from that moment onwards. I moved to Accy about 7 years ago, & lived next to Peel Park. I've had a soft spot for Stanley ever since.

Real football. Real players. Real fans.

If you lived next to Peel Park, would that be Turkey St? If so you might know my Uncle and Aunt. Theyve since moved from Turkey St but they bought a house there when it was built I think and lived there for several years.

I was also born in Accy (says it on my passport too Wynonie), lived on Primrose St, top of Ormerod St, but was never taken to watch Stanley (Accy apathy?!) then moved to Leyland when I was 7 because Dad got a promotion in the Fire Brigade. Always heard or found out what Stanley were doing from year to year but it was the FA Cup run in 1992 when I was 17 that drew me to watch my first Stanley game. Admittedly before that I was calling myself a Man U fan and was taken on several occaisons to Old Trafford as a young teenager. Also went to watch Blackburn a couple of times but I never called myself a Rovers fan. I was a Man U fan watching a game of football coz I couldnt go to Old Trafford. But since that cup game against Crewe at Ewood, Ive been nothing but Stanley - caught the train over to Accy for a home game soon after and that was me. Great club great people. Miss it a HELL of a lot.

Blimey a few of us that was brought up at Peel Park - my playground & school LOL:D My parents are still there near the hallowed ground & started my interest from a young age of the buzz of owd stanley ground & one day i'll have a pictoral collection of it:D
