New shirts for next season?

I notice that the official site (www.accringtonstanley.co.uk) is informing fans that the club shop is selling this season's shirts with £10 off.

Does this mean that there will be another new shirt (or sponsor) for next season?

Hopefully, not a fan of this seasons shirt, crap material, crap fitting, crap make.

Dunno about anyone else but for me this season's shirt has been the best for a while. Certainly better than the Nike rubbish.

Hope it ain't a kit/sponsor change.

I also think this season has produced one of the best looking shirts for many a year, and I have had no problem with the fitting or quality.

Samf, may I suggest a few pies and pints to help the shirt 'fit' more snugly?

What was up with the "tellytubby" style :D

In my opinion, this seasons shirt is definately the best ever, it's also the smartest by far from any league.

I do hope they don't change them for next season.

Shirts are great-had no problem with running dye like some reported. But REDASH,start saving 'cause as sure as the sun comes up,there will be a new strip to buy next season.

Re: New shirts for next season?

I think this seasons shirt looks well but mine was of very poor construction, the bloody neck came off it after a couple of months, and before any1 says "why didn'y ya take it back" I did to both frazer and the club with no joy at all(frazer used the old "have you still got you're receipt" cop-out and the club used the old "we'll look into it cop-out").

And i couldn't be arsed stitching it before anone else says!

I also like this seasons shirt, miles better than the last one.

I like my shirt that said improvements could be made. I’d like to see a bit more shape and stiffness in the collar with a little less in the sleeve and a squeeze more in the gut. The away shirt could do with losing the Red bits.

I have to argue that my shirt despite the “Pink Bits” scare is in tip top condition, it’s comfortable, durable and washable, I wouldn’t mind it for another season but I would also be happy to see a more combat resilient version for the likes of Mully and one with bondage straps extending to the socks for the likes of Mangan.

Having had both home and away shirts, I have to say, they are the best shirts by a country mile over anything else we have had. Both are fine - no problems at all with either. Cannot see us changing sponsors though - I was under the impression that Fraser Eagle had sponsored us for 3 years.

Isn't that what Hyndburn Council said? ;)

I didn't know Trinny & Susannah were Stanley fans

That's rubbish!
The Nike ones were designed for skinny people only. The one that displayed hyndburn borough council on the front looked like a prison strip and after washing once fit like a lycra cycling top...
This season's shirt is baggy on my sizeable torso, looks the business and is definately the best since the Holland's Pies ones.

I also think this seasons shirt is the best one for a long time, mine and my sons shirts are both in tip top condition, never had a problem with either, so I hope they dont change them....

Yes. Mine's an XXL and fits really well. The largest available Nike shirt was a bit snug. Besides, I think these shirts look way better than the Nike ones.

I think the MK Dons surridge shirts look really smart too. As a metal head, I wish we were sponsored by Marshall amps!

Could it be changing because of the EASports Fifa 07 bit on the back?or is that not on your shirts when you buy them?

oh right I thought it was like a secondary sponsor of the shirt.

mine itches like mad. dont like the feel or look of it. our kits should represent where we are in league 2 not sunday league.

I think you may need to wash it then;)

I don't think our shirt is Sunday league, it's definately Premiership class :)

The best shirts I have seen this season are all made by Surridge. Very good for a local cricket outfitters.

Re: New shirts for next season?

I think this seasons kit has been the best for years. Definitely the best one since ProStar finished. The Nike ones were crap, and methinks many people only dislike this seasons because Surridge isnt a "fashionable" make. I have to admit I also had them down as cricket people but these seasons are comfy, practical and stylish, everything you want in a kit.

shakermaker 11-04-2007 20:43

Re: New shirts for next season?

I detested the Nike kits.

Not everyone wants to look like a scally.

Alvin the chipmunk 11-04-2007 20:57

Re: New shirts for next season?

The most annoying thing was folk going "Oh my God, how the hell did you get Nike" or "Why would Nike sponsor someone like Accy Stanley?".

Which meant I had to explain to the kretins:

a) Nike were the kit MANUFACTURERS, not SPONSORS
b) They supplied us for the same reason they supply everybody, money.

So in conclusion, Surridge all the way, :)

The same could be said about people who did not like the nike kits. Only liking pro-star and surridge to fit in with an anti-brand ideal.

The nike kits were flimsy, washed badly and unflattering to the larger figure

These surridge kits are uncomfortable, itchy and made to fit people who are wider than they are tall.

Another brand please.

I like it!
...but look around the Clayton end, most of us are wider than we are tall.
Some of us are naturally big boned and stacked with lean muscle and some ate a lot of Holland's Pies and drank much John Smith's...:D

Hopefully we'll get a new shirt, don't like this one. Liked the nike ones a lot better, smarter and better quality. Dont mind the blue shirt but hate the red un'.......new shirt please!

Re: New shirts for next season?

I personally like this seasons kit. It has the more modern, senior team look to it that shows we are a professional team. I personally thought the nike tops made us look a bit more sunday league... not sure y.

Re: New shirts for next season?

The best football shirts I ever had were bought in the early nineties. It seems to me that every season since then, they have got cheaper and shoddier. This season's was an upturn in the trend.
Sometimes though, it's the sponsor that puts me off.
Holland's Pies were great but ASDA was a bit embarrasing and Hyndburn Borough Council wasn't much better...:)
