IF the ground was in Altham then I'm sure the bus services would improve accordingly for matchdays.

The very beginning of Altham would not be terribly bad but .........

I would fight tooth and nail to keep the ground in Accrington.

A football ground away from the community it serves would be a disaster IMHO. We can't get people to the clubhouse as it is without it being miles away from the centre.

We need the ground itself developing. In all honesty how far can the club go? without the support of the town it will not challenge for the Championship in a generation. Only when we have set the foundations of the future by establishing the facilities and the projects to attract todays youth to become tomorrows client, can we hope to attract the kind of crowds that would sustain Level 2 football.

The best plan for the future is most certainly to buy the land at the side of the FES belonging to Accy Amateurs. That pitch could be turned sideways and used as a training pitch, opening up the possibility of it becoming revenue during the week as well as saving money on training facilities. It could also house an adequate function room - closer to the road than the present one - with Conference and banqueting facilites, thereby opening up further revenue. It could also mean the extension of the present car park to one which would hold a hell of a lot more cars, with better entrance and exits, paying £2 each extra revenue which would then pay for the correct number of stewards every game. It would also help to relieve the local residents of the current parking congestion. Maybe a road could eventually be built out of the other end to let traffic out over Whinney Hill. If Accy Amateurs have a problem with that then why not tout it as "we will give you a guaranteed lease of x number of years and you will have better facilities than you currently have, as well as decreased maintenance costs". Everybody wins.

I am sure that the new Council/Stanley Feasibility and Strategy Group could make this happen?

its never gonna happen because its not feasable because its on prime land and would add to costs and kill off stanley because it would add costs to the local community to travel there. anyway heard any adjoining land is earmarked for housing and a greyhound racecourse if it happens zeri comes to mind........

After extremely detailed and extensive research , I can tell you that although The Crown Inn and that part of Whalley Rd and Livingstone Rd are in Accrington . The football ground is entirely in Altham . Soreeee .

NEW STADIUM or pie in the sky?

I hope Holland's aren't making the new stadium or it'd have a 6000 capacity in it's first year, then 4000 the year after. :D
