Official Hereford forum is now to close as well, full story @ Bulls News - The Hereford United News Website

Scroll past this article and there is a link to a petition in support of Martin Watson, there's already some Accy names on it.

Their advice was, "if they want to bring a case of libel against you, they have to prove that what you have said isn't true. Do they want to go through all that, and have their dirty washing aired in public? "

In the case of the Hereford forum, then Hereford FC/Turner would have to prove that the gate figures were 100% accurate. They would be fully investigated and every miniscule detail would be brought into the public domain. I doubt many clubs would want that to happen. Do you?

I can assure everyone that the gate attendances announced at The FES are totally accurate in every case, and even include the non-payers (sponsors etc).

It is very easy for people to think that clubs fiddle the gate receipts as a tax dodge, but ours are electronically calculated, and cross-checked.

Not every-body is on the fiddle you know!!

Mr Turner, not very nice what you have done to someone who helped the club through all the mess caused by bad management of the club, You Mr T should be asked to resign and forced to sell the club back to the fans who will do a better job than you have ever done, I hate managers who can't take a bit of flack wether its a case like this or POOR!! team selection if they cant take it they should GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!

I really hope you mean COUNTED as the definition of CALULATED is:
1. To ascertain by computation; reckon.
2. To make an estimate of; evaluate
3. To make for a deliberate purpose; design:

I found No.2 the best definition:D

(Did you know if you take a picture of a crowd it's quite easy to count how many people are on the picture?);)

Really think you, and others, are missing the big picture, Bagpuss. :(

A guy's gone, unjustly, to the gallows* for giving someone, like you, the opportunity to post stupid messages.

*OK, maybe not the gallows, but, "Tale of two cities" sprang to my mind ....
.................................................. .................. so that would be the guillotine. :behead:

The point has not been missed on me, far from it, I have never posted anything that I could not back up if needed. PEOPLE LIKE ME (thank you) if the moderators though anything was wrong would ban US, in fact I would ban myself. Censorship of this level is disgusting the guy has done nothing wrong but I get the impression that you would like to censor in your own words STUPID MESSAGES from our forum, I do not consider what I post to be stupid just sometimes another point of view like your postings, lighten up, as kipax keeps saying "it's only a message board".:)

Is this what you class as a stupid posting OGGY? I've been given karma for a witty post but if you think it's stupid so be it that's your point of view.:)

Maybe it should have said, " for giving someone, like you OR ME, the opportunity to post stupid messages ". Does that make sense?

To me, though, the issue seems to be a guy has been stuffed by the club, for something beyond his control, after years of service to the cause.

I'm all for stupid messages, big fan of cmonstanley, and my own can be a bit wayward at times, depending on circumstances. If I do have a beef with yours, Bagpuss, it's probably that I've heard it all before and it seems more like an agenda than a view. But, having read the thread again I wouldn't want you to shut up, as others are suggesting, not in the least.

Anyway, hope people have read the full story and signed the petition.

what I dont get is that if it was an Unofficial forum, and the offnding thread had been deleted, why the guy has agreed to take the site down even though he was given a life ban from Edgar St!

I personally would have given Turner holy hell through the site and let the 500 odd petitioners have a field day.

That would be tempting, but not in Martin Watson's style, from the little I know of him. Have been a fan of Bull's News since Revived Red recommended it on here, they have a gentler way of supporting and reporting all things Hereford, and football in general, usually quite funny.

Turner has got it wrong, big style, and has turned the spotlight on himself, no doubt this is just another episode in the strange relationship between fans and clubs. Their official forum closing down is a strange one, can only see it as an act of solidarity.

I can only speak from our ground facilities that the new turnstiles are linked to a computer count as required for ground licencing by Lancs county council. In conversations with Eric of recent times he considers this information as critical to the accurate accounting of the club. It also allows the safety officer to assess, when crowds permit, when capacity of each section of the ground is at a maximum for safety. As for Hereford maybe after all out te a te's over the years maybe the chairman has done the lad a favour in "no longer having to suffer fools glady" (assumed of course.) In reality the chair is opening himself up to a whole potential can of worms & trust the real fans of Hereford back him up & show the chair up fobeing such an arrogant personage-surely the local press should finally have a great time of use of freedom of the press in exposing whatever skeletons theyalways manage to dig up at such times. I am now off to sign the lads petiton in support & show my disgust at such over the top action.
