Don't tell her! spend Saturday afternoon in the Crown. If you get Hazel to play a Stanley video in the bar you could go home saying you watched the Stanley!!!!

I'd hinted in the starter, Bagpuss. :)

However good news is you can make the derby game on the 20th. ;)

TM, it worked for Tranmere because "real" scousers liked getting a ferry to the one eyed hole, as we lovingly refer to Birkenhead. ;)

We can all go and support other teams on Saturday, yippee! 118 and going down.

I wouldn't be seen dead in Goodison but as I'm a Lancastrian it's Dec 15th that's the big one for me.

Small problem with that, my father in law also goes to the games and I wouldn't trust him not to let something slip.:)

Saturday's football day for me and always will be, but it's not as if they've changed all the home fixtures to Friday, it's only two of 'em...so far.

If it really does improve attendances, then good luck to them, I'd be willing to shelve my personal reservations and go along with regular Friday night matches. But I've got my doubts about this...I just can't see many fans of other clubs watching Stanley on Friday nights, then going along to watch their "first" club the day after. And if it was such a big success at Tranmere, how come they're not still doing it?

If we get to the 3rd round at Goodison this year I'll buy your ticket, and show you round. :D

Did Tranmere stop playing Fridays because more Premier league games were moved from Saturdays ?

Wrecsam not too keen either:

Seems they recall the unimproved floodlights with affection.

Maybe they did, but I still can't see many fans taking in two matches in one weekend for reasons of both expense and domestic harmony!

Agree with most of that Wynonie.

Quick check shows we didn't do it last year, previous year we had 5 Forest Green Rovers fans turning up, and gates of approx 1500 turning up for that game and Hereford (1800 last year on a Saturday)

Tranmere, they didn't have much choice in those days when Anfield and Goodison were both pulling 50,000 plus regularly on Saturdays, I'd go along with my mates if we had nowt better to do.

They've already moved Dagenham to Friday, BTW.

Keeping the faith is one thing, watching videos of this season's games might be asking too much ..... :)

Whenever my ex-missus used to say Birkenhead, I thought she was saying Bacon Head. No wonder it didn't work out. ;)
