Eric on the radio
Sorry fellas but all I'm hearing on Radio Lancs at the moment from Eric is moaning about the people of Accrington not supporting the club.

Re: Eric on the radio
I do wish he'd stop all this. It just doesn't work.

They say Beckham has a peculiar voice. I think Whalley's his grandfather.:)

Re: Eric on the radio
I agree with his comments about apathy in the town. He is not getting at the loyal supporters like yourselves. Look at the Torquay game, it p*ssed down the whole game, no roof but 4000+ came for free. What happened at the next game, over half didn't turn up. The facilities this season are better for home fans, I think he has every right to be very disappointed with attendances!:thumbsdow

Re: Eric on the radio
I've read all the various comments about poor attendances and no one has yet mentioned the other front page story in last week's Observer - that over 30% of the population of the borough is unemployed, one of the highest rates in the country. If you're short of readies you're not going to be coming to a football match, never mind splashing out on a season ticket. I'd buy a season ticket if I could spread the cost. As it is, I pay on the gate and probably end up contributing more money over the season than the season ticket holders.

Re: Eric on the radio
This is the best comment I've read on Eric's bleating, it applies this year, last year and, probably next year. (It's from the Morecambe messageboard)
I can't help thinking that comments from Stanley's manager and chairman over the last year have exacerbated the problem of low gates. I don't really listen or look out for Accrington features in the media but when I have heard them they have often bleated about the support from the town. They've used words like "disgusting", "shameful", "embarrassing" and "annoying". It's really poor Google Page Ranking. I imagine it makes the fans who go feel guilty for those who don't turn up, and it doesn't exactly paint an attractive picture of the atmosphere at the ground for those that don't go. I think it's absolutely spot on. |

I'm out of work myself at the moment, this week has sorely stretched my budget, hence I went to the Posh game, missed the Oldham game, but will be there for the Grimsby game!! Simply couldn't afford to go to all three,as much as I would have loved to:o |
