Winter Blues

With the onset of Autumn/Winter due just wondered if ASFC will be expanding their merchandise range to possbly include fleece jacets, bench jackets or sweat shirts to help keep us warm on the terraces?:)

As they didn't bother to expand their merchandise range to include t-shirts in the summer, I very much doubt it.

That's a pity given all the talk of people wearing their shirts during the Summer being the best form of advertising they can have, Would have been nice to continue the theme through the rest of the year maybe a missed oppurtunity?
Particulary when you look around the Surridge sponsored link on the Fishy site and see what other clubs are offering!

Mmm the clothing merchandise is a lot to be desired, yet i dont think Eric was overly impressed about he OSC's merchandise competing with the clubs - yet 'stanleys' offer a bit more variation & arm coverage hehehe, having looked in our neighbouring club shop - they cater on a broader scale on clothing - even as far as youth clothing thats more street than sports style, like fleeces in other colours & casuals with a little club logo appealing to all ages even more so with youth clothing. I think the club shop lacks varaition & room with limiting itself to just the basic norm club shop rather than making its merchandise more attractive - erm least OSc stuff branched that bit further than the club hence it did well plus was competetive in pricing too making it affordable - shame club cant take the hint that merchandising is a big business & people want more than the club tshirt & mugs with reasonable prices

Btw could do with some fleeces shame the club dont have any lol

It's been suggested on here that people don't go to the games because the ticket price is too much. If thats the case I can't see enough people forking out for jackets etc which will meet minimum order requirements.

Was it not done when we were in the lower leagues?
Spin round the Surridge site and look at the ranges that are offered for other clubs (not just football) !:)

I accept that potential sales must justify the production costs for any item. But the present range of club merchandise seems ridiculously limited. Just look at the Stanley store on t'fishy site - no t-shirts, no polo shirts, basic lines that the club should surely be offering.

As for Eric's attitude to OSC merchandise, I find this puzzling. As the club don't sell t-shirts, umbrellas etc, the OSC are hardly diverting sales from the club's own lines. Perhaps more importantly, these items are raising the profile of the club in the area, so surely he should be pleased that the OSC have taken this initiative?

Wonder if someone put the suggestion to Lee at clubshop about looking for more warmer wear with surridge as they sponsor the kit:rolleyes:

Very true Wynonie - there is hardly owt on there, as for osc it was brought up to iron out once & for all that nobody was stepping on club toes & what u said was clarified, maybe eric could see this as test pilot for broadening out with merchandise - hopefully:D but there does need to be a bit more choice if he wants fans to put coffiers in the clubshop:D

Maybe Eric is thinking more of actual disposable income than product range.

Perhaps he could be/ have been more in liason with the OSC whereby they sold stuff in the shop with split profits. That way the club is in a win win situation given that OSC money goes back in to the club anyway.

As an aside most official football club merchandise is overpriced anyway, regardless of who you support :(

:)From small Acorns!!:)
Part of my job as a Purchaser is to source workwear:
The rules are simple
no minimum order quantities
most competitive price
best quality
where possible use local suppliers:)
