Craney Returns To Swansea

Ian Craney has been recalled by Swansea City see Fishy Site!!:eek:

Re: Craney Returns To Swansea

That's rather disappointing. Just because he scored against Barnet, doesn't mean he's fully match fit with a confidence boost. Do Swansea know anything about players? he would have needed at least 18 months to get his fitness back to what is needed for league 1.

Craney out. Twissy out.

I think that gives you lads the edge.

There's nothing obvious about why he's been recalled on Swansea's site and I can't be bothered searching it. So why is there nowt on Stanley's site about the reason for the recall? Rob???

Re: Craney Returns To Swansea

Swansea midfileder Bodde has a medium-term hip injury - but they have 3 other midfielders to cover his position excluding Craney.

I presume someone else has come in with an offer for him so he's been recalled in order to send him out on loan to his new suitors before a permanent move in Jan?

strange.

This is tragic news, I just hope this is not a pre-cursor to the events last season. I was tempted to change my prediction for tomorrow, but I will stick with it and have faith in the players we already have and just hope we can continue in our unbeaten run.

It is indeed very bad news. Craney gave us penetration up front, something we've lacked all season.
We were only talking on Wednesday night at the reserves about our position now, compared to last season. It was about this time last season that we had 17 points from the opening 13 games, but we then lost 9 games in a row. This season we're 2 points better off. Let's hope that history isn't about the repeat itself.

I'd echo the sentiments stated in this thread. It's bad news, but surely with Craney going back to Swansea it gives somebody else in the squad the chance to step up to the challenge of filling the void. Incentive enough to earn a regular starting berth.

Depends on the formation Coley uses I suppose, but if you're going to ask someone to provide the penetration and a little bit of cut and thrust that Craney gave us,my money would be with Boco.

there was good news this week with a specialist's report on Romuald Boco's back injury revealing that he could be back in action within a few weeks

I think tragic news is a bit on the strong side - disappointing yes and bloody annoying that there is the instant recall clause in every loan especially when Swansea didn't even see fit to give Ian a squad number & were happy for him to be loaned out.
It's happened at a bad time with Rommy being out at the moment too but lets face it - Ian wasn't back for good, he was always going to go back to Swansea at some point, he said as much when he signed.

I would like to see Paul Carden given another go in the middle or John Miles playing just in behind the front two, both have points to prove and I would have thought be chomping at the bit!
