Re: tonite v rochdale
final score 2-1 rochdale.
We really should be winning against 10 men. Anyone know why Coley took Leighton off? |
Re: tonite v rochdale
One of the worst stanley performances I've seen. It's all well and good playing with 10 men but with rocky and branch in a stanley shirt we're effectively playing 9

And what's the point in playing one dimensional football, when there is nobody on the same wave-length as Mully, so the knock-ons just go to waste. |
Re: tonite v rochdale
Well done John Coleman.
No tactics. No bollocks. No nothing. ...Again. One positive - Dennehy looks class! |
Re: tonite v rochdale
Worst Stanley performance I have ever seen tonight. Out passed and out fought by 10 men for most of the game, and it could have been 1-4 by the end. Why oh why does Coley persist with Branch, when he has been a liability for the last few peformances, and move Liam from his natural position to accomodate him to the exclusion of Edwards, one of our best defenders? It is beyond belief. Even with 11 against 10 we continually humped the ball in the air instead of keeping the ball - we are so one-dimensional in our play it is untrue. Great performance by the Dale, who looked to have spare men by intelligent, dynamic play all over the pitch. No beer in, so I'm hitting the sherry bottle tonight.:(

Re: tonite v rochdale
What kind of manager, when your 1 - 0 up at home & the other team are down to 10 men switches to a 4 - 5 - 1 formation????? Coley had absolutely no idea tonight - neither did the team for big patches of the game. They came to life a bit when we were 2 - 1 down, around about the time that our esteemed manager decided to let rip with a string of obscenities and kick the side of the dugout. All I can say is discipline comes from the top and if thats the example they get ???????????

Re: tonite v rochdale
Rate the players...Branch 0/10, Rocky 0/10..Coleman 1/10
This was an absolute rubbish display. The team have had ten days to prepare and they looked tired and unable to string together more than one pass. Rochdale wanted to win and did so well with ten men. Paul Ince was here tonight to watch the opposition...He has no worries. |

But it's not just Branch, is it? NINE defeats at home, (6 league, 3 cup), failed to score in 6 of those, and in the lead in the other 3 !!! As Yogi Berra famously said, " It's Deja vu, all over again". Come on John, get it sorted, we're doing the business away from home. |

Re: tonite v rochdale
I only saw the second half and what I saw was not worthy of the name of Accrington Stanley. I would say, only Liam Richardson and BIlly Dennehy came out of that match with anything. Rommy did not have the time to get into the game and where was Roscoe, is he out injured or summat. By the looks of it, there were approximately 700 Dale fans maybe more, but if that is what is servedup to the Accrington fans then we won't be getting 900 more like 400, even the Ultras seemed quiet tonight by comparison. Enough is enough, the formation should have been 4-3-3 after Perkins got sent off, not 4-5-1 - even 4-4-2 would have been preferable. The performance was inept and devoid of all thinking by any of the men in Red except for the two named above. I think it is time to play all our matches away and in Blue because red is not a lucky colour at the moment.
