Despite a much needed win and three points there where still people leaving the ground having a winge. I've been known to have the odd one myself but not after a win so I found myself telling them to shut up or something like that, some people are never happy wouldn't you agree Oggy?

Praise where it is due!!
Management picked the right team and the right formation!

Defence and goalkeeper outstanding!
Mannix in holding role stopped ball going into their forwards.
Craney did well and both wide men played with credit!
Mullin back to something like his best and Mangan caused plenty of problems!!

At times it wasn't pretty but it can't always be.

We have to learn to fight hard to earn the right to play our football!

Well done lads!!

AND PLEASE LETS HAVE A SETTLED TEAM FOR A BIT!!

Really great result last night and a complete surprise to me, as no way could I see Stanley winning after the game at Brentford a week last Saturday.

When I got back home from evening classes last night, I was amazed to see the result. A huge well done to the team and to John Coleman, who clearly got things right last night, which hasn't always been the case in recent weeks.

Let's hope that we can now build on this and pull away from the dreaded R zone. Wrexham did us a favour by losing, but Dagenham seem to be on the march right now (I didn't expect them to beat Hereford ! ) and Barnet still have several games in hand. It's still not safe by any means, but it is starting to look a little better this morning. :)

Well done guys !!! :D:D:D

Will the new lad be cleared by weekend?

Even if he does get his clearance, please God that we keep the same team together on Saturday with no tinkering :)

Agreed, but it was a good SQUAD performance - the subs did well too. Great to see our two best centre halves on together again dominating their forwards (see the Bees quotes below). Kenny was king in the box, especially with the high balls, even if his kicking is no better than Bav's at the moment.:(
One heart-warming moment for me was when Phil got clattered by a late challenge and just got up without any bother, instead of screaming and rolling about like Drogba, etc., pretending to have been shot.
The only minus was our inability to keep the ball in the later stages when we should have closed the game down more easily - we really need to work on this a bit more.
For once I watched from the main stand with my best man from 40 years ago, who is partially disabled, and on his first visit to FES he was amazed at how such a small number of people could generate such a din. Well done to the Ultras for their amazing 110% inspiring support, which I'm sure contributed to the win. Just imagine what it would be like if they all brought a couple of noisy mates along as I did. They would have to go through the audition, though!
Some great quotes from the Bees forum:-

ffice:smarttags" /><ST1:place>"Accrington</ST1:place> fans were on acid, scarf twirling and bouncing around for 90 minutes to the beat of a drum. The drugs must either be good up north or its there way of beating the cold.

Felt sorry for the 100-150 fans waiting for a bus at the side of the pitch to our right. They were there all game and not one came along. Maybe Mark Fullers bee will have a picture of the sad chaps queing in vain.ffice:office" /><O:p></O:p>

We have stopped playing the football we were a few games ago and do not know how to get round big northern centre backs. And it was brass monkeys standing behind that goal !!! <O:p></O:p>

They wanted it more than us. They hustled and bustled and put in niggly tackles on us which we didn't like and couldn't cope with. Soft southerners, us ! Referee didn't clamp down on it, so they persisted with it all game."

Excellent performance from everyone last night, though I felt drained when I came away! I thought Mark Roberts was outstanding - man of the match for me by a country mile. Have to say, though, that I think it is probably because he can now concentrate on doing his OWN job. No need to worry that if it goes over his head there will be no decisive keeper making positive attempts to cut out the danger - and no need to keep a wary eye on what is happening on the left BRANCH of the defence in case he needs to get across and cover. Last night could be the making of him....... let's hope so!

As for the above statement by jiffy bag I can only think he was watching a different game, the old fogies behind me in the stand were shouting at Coleman to bring him off. Craney was one of our best players in the conference but is absolutely useless in the league. I wonder if we could sucker some other fools into buying him? £85,000 down the drain.

I have to agree with others on this thread who have said, please, please, please keep the same team for Saturday against Rotherham. They were immense on Tuesday. You could say Mullers could have buried a couple of chances in the second half to ease the pressure, but who cares, a win and no goals against is just what the doctor ordered. I know I have been a critic of the management of late but they got it spot on. Please keep Webb and Roberts together in defence as they always play well together and with Liam and Phil they looked invincible at times. Keep it up
