Re: Rotherham ......

Rotherham have seen youth coach Mick Priest, groundsman Bill Corby, and Customer Service manager Carol Rockett leave the club.
Priest left for 'personal reasons' while the other two are being made redundant by Administators.
Corby is a three time Groundsman of the Year at the Football League awards.
The Administrator has revealed that the club has a £1.1million playing budget set on 4,500 average gates.
Their average is currently 4,287.

It boosts Chesterfield's chances of getting the play offs so that they will have all the encouragement they need against Stanley.

No, the harder option and the honest approach is not to spend money you haven't got, even if that means having a basic ground that other fans sneer at and struggling along with a team who are paid the lowest wages in the football league. Perhaps you wouldn't think Rotherham's approach was so praiseworthy if you were one of the creditors who was set to receive xxp in the £.

Yes and some Millers fans sneered at our ground after their visit. You should have heard them on Radio Sheffield.

So, everyone sneers at our ground. Even we sneer at our ground. I wouldn't want it any other way! :p:p:p

Can they afford to sneer having gone into administration for a second time with a partially completed stand?

And, to be honest, their ground, although bigger than ours, isn't much to write home about!

Exactly!
People moan that Eric dosen't spend money but at least you are safe in the knowledge that Stanley won't be going into administration.
People can sneer all they like the fact is Stanley have learnt the hard way from past mistakes and strive not to make them again.
Even if Stanley do get relegated back into the conference one day at least there is a club to support.
I don't think it's a brave decision by Rotheram,if they were run properly and didn't try to spend beyond there means they wouldn't be in this mess now simple as.

Re: Rotherham ......

The point I am trying to make is more about the timing of the announcement, to take a ten point deduction at this stage when they were in a play off spot is a brave descision, ok they won't get relegated but they are not the first and won't be the last team that goes into administration. I appreciate the comments about Accy and the way it is run which is you cut your cloth accordingly and in this day and age is to be applauded. I think to survive on the gates we get is nothing short of a miracle and full credit to Eric & Everyone at the Club who keep us going forward.

but yet the timing is also impeccable, just as they reach 61 points, therefore the minus 10 points means they will be safe in this league at 51 points even if they lose their remaining games

Good point, it's called cheating. The idea of the ten point penalty was to make clubs think about how they are run. Nowadays they are using the rule to cheat. Wonder when the league will start issuing a 20 point penalty.

On the other side of the coin, while Rotherham continue as a business there are probably some companies who will go bust because of their action, the suppliers

Not looking too good for Rotherham.

BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | Rotherham Utd | Rotherham United face extinction

Mind you, how many times have we seen this, only for clubs to be given an extension at the 11th hour? If it did happen, we'd lose 3 points.

Re: Rotherham ......

IF Rotherham don't find a solution before this deadline and this year's records are explunged ( as Aldershot and Accy previously) we stand to lose 3 points.

What makes it worse is that Wrexham, Mansfield and Dagenham will lose nothing!

The points totals ( after the adjustments would be)
Mansfield have 39, Dagenham 43 Notts 43 Chester 43 Macc 45 and Accy 45.

Worst affected would be Rochdale who would lose 6 and Hereford would lose 4.

Mansfield could catch us and their goal difference is better. Also Mansfield and Dagenham are due to play Rotherham. Even if the situation is sorted are the Rotherham players going to be up for the fight?? Have they been paid??

3 points v Barnet is a must tomorrow:)
