Re: Wish List ???
players such as king and mannix can easily be replaced.
coley sees them every day - he is the best judge. Nicky Wroe of York City would be a good addition in midfield. As he is now transfer listed, no reason why we cant pick him up. Chris Flynn of stafford rangers would do a job in league 2 and is available. |

And not forgetting a little bit of consideration from the FA when they get round to deciding the fixtures for Boxing Day and New Years Day !.....Blundell Park is somehow NOT the place to spend a Festive occasion, (always something 'fishy' about the plaice!).http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/i...cons/icon6.gif So if Mr Barwick and his 'lesser-lights' are listening :-'The Shakers' at home on December 26th would seem to offer an ideal option and a potential Soccerfest for both Clubs and their supporters !. Re: Wish List ???
and whatever Derby game is assigned should always be a Boxing Day/New Years Eve double header. The chance to make instant amends always guarantees crowds.
In general I think the FA should be a lot more attentive when it comes to lower league fixture setting. Last year when we had Grimsby away Bury got Mansfield. It seems to me that fixture could have been better for both club had it been the other way around. |
Re: Wish List ???
isnt it funny , not long ago you lot where screaming to give MANNIX a run now its how easy to replace him

Re: Wish List ???
:)Folks sorry to be boring but here goes;
In case anybody has forgot; WE ARE FOOTBALL LEAGUE!!! If you want local derby's at Christmas re-join the non-league. In general FL clubs do not want local derby's as the local plod take a great interest. Double bubble, 5 hours guaranteed!!!:mad: Grimsby v Accy police free, Grimsby v Lincoln, ploiced BUT at normal rates!! We play Bradford and we have last season's only policed match, and guess what it double time for all the gathered law enforcers.:mad: So sorry, if we play Chesterfield on Boxing or New Years Day, I guess it will be police free, and when Bradford bring their hordes in October we'll be so well organised it will be another FES policce free game, thus saving OUR club thousands!!!:) |
Re: Wish List ???
I might have got this wrong, if I have I do apologise but my understanding in a nutshell is:
Boxing Day against Bury with perhaps 3000+ on we don't want! But Boxing Day against Dagenham with 1600 will do:confused: |

Re: Wish List ???
Pendle Red, you miss my point;
v Bradford there were 1480 home fans, the previous home match was v Shrewsbury with 1057 home fans. 30% up. The view is that no matter who you play at home Boxing Day/ New Year the home fans will turn out. So then save the derby/ local games for Feb or November when gates are lower and clubs should get the benefit of 2 higher gates. Then add in the police cost factor, and in London a noon or 1pm kick off for bank holiday games which leads to the general view of no FL derby's at the bank holiday's |

Re: Wish List ???
I understand what SR is saying about derby games but IMHO I dont want to travel far on boxing day or new years day. 15 mile down the road for one and vice versa is fine for me! On an occasion it needs to be an occasion - Grimsby home or away is no occasion and I for one don't mind missing them if I have to.
