I see that the away fans seating at Gillingham is described as being golf tourmament style - be interesting to get a preview on Saturday.

after watching the goals on tv, and seeing the Bristol Rovers goals, the modular stand behind the goals looks ok

As long as it's cheap and it meets FL requirements, get it built! It's only for away fans anyway.

On the other hand, we could scour the country for a cheap secondhand stand. I'm sure it wouldn't cost much to transport it back to the FES... ;)

Looks OK to me. I pity the poor sods when it's raining, though. There's nowt worse than sitting on a wet seat and getting soaked (as anybody who has been to Stockport will testify)!
