Luton town FC
Just seen on bcc sport website Luton to start next season with 30 point deduction could only be one relegation spot to fight over!!!!!!!

Re: Luton town FC
Could still go to us if we don't meet the ground requirements. ;)

Re: Luton town FC
There's more about Luton's points deduction and about Rotherham and Bournemouth's position on the Football League website: http://www.football-league.co.uk/pag...341988,00.html.

Re: Luton town FC
The other ten points was given weeks ago for the issues they had regarding illegal dealings with agents.
|
Re: Luton town FC
I would expect that they will probably run concurrently. A 30 point deduction would pretty much relegate them immediately so would they not tak ethe view that we are down regardless so lets just let 15 kids play? etc etc and for example only. They may as well save on wages and put it towards next seasons Conference campaign

Re: Luton town FC

Re: Luton town FC
Got to say, I think Jimmy Bell has put both feet in it in tonights Evening Telegraph. Very crass comments that the club could well do without, especially when you consider what happened to Stanley in 1962. Sorry JB but you made a mistake with those.http://www.thisislancashire.co.uk/sp...nts__cushion_/

Re: Luton town FC
Couldn't agree more with you OUTBACK..we can think that (having a 'cushion') but to say so publicly?-very immature me thinks. I think Jimmy probably regrets saying it now.
|
Re: Luton town FC
For anyone thinking of buying a season ticket the thought we might need such a cushion might not be the greatest encouragement to pay up hard earned cash.
In any event we need a new stand to stay up ourselves and there is another relegation place. We do not know what if any points deduction Rotherham or Bournemouth may get. Got to say that the obstacles Rotherham look to face before any start to the season look extremely daunting. |
Re: Luton town FC
Whilst Bell is out of order making public his views, I find it hard to have much sympathy for Luton. They've been over-spending for years, trying to achieve successes on the pitch and now they are facing the consequences of doing that. Three administrations in 10 years says it all. Other clubs have had to struggle year in and year out for any success they may or may not have had. What makes Luton so special?

11:51am Fri 11 Jul 08 Really great to see solidarity between clubs. When Accrington next face going bust - Us Luton fans will you remind you of the comments made above. It is a sad state of affairs that Jimmy Bell takes pleasure in another clubs misfortune. Really great to see solidarity between clubs. This could be any number of clubs in the FL, including Accrington. Lower league football needs each other to survive the big guns and cronies that make up the top 4 club pact currently driving the game out of recognisable exisitence. I wonder if Jimmy Bell reads this and if he, or the club, would care to re-comment on his comments? I have to echo the previous comment. I hope and prey the betting scandal episode doesn't rear its ugly head in the non too distant future and ends up with a huge points deduction if we are found to have been a little naughty - just a thought!
