If you consider having Copper Dragon as one of the local beers (Skipton) then count me in, it`s probably one of the best beers i`ve ever tasted, either Golden Pippin or Scotts 1816.

Golden Pippin is on the suggested list from East Lancs Camra:)

I went to a beer festival 2 years ago and drank a beer called Accrington Stanley. That must be on the list eh?

Accrington Stanley Promotion Ale brewed by Red Rose Brewery in Harwood, I have asked the question as well as that one whether we could also have a "40th Anniversery Ale" made specially:)

Now advertised on fishy site. If this event is a success can we hope that the club will see the benefit of selling decent cask beer in their pub and bar!

Does it have to be a local brew?? If not, then you wont go far wrong with Marstons Old Empire - what a beer, WHAT a beer...

Stay away from Giddy Kipper and Sneck Lifter though - yuk!

Cards on the table time folks

For this to go on I need your help
I need to get at least 15 Beer Barrel Sponsors by Monday 08th September

What I am looking at is £70 to sponsor a Barrel for that you will recieve Two free admissions to either the Friday or one of Saturday's Sessions, Two Free Pints of your Sponsored Beer, Two Free Festival Glasses, Laminated Barrel End to either put your name/company logo on the Sponsored Barrel and a mention next to the chosen Beer in the Festival Programme.

If you are interested either pm me or contact [email protected]

Thank You for Your Interest:)

Bamber bridge FC have a beer festival every year. Their clubhouse stocks 2 good real ales. I know people who won't go in the crown because of the lack of a decent pint.

well it might not happen this year for us unless the offers of sponsorship go through the roof tomorrow

That's a blow. As I can't get down to Dagenham, I was hoping to quaff a few pints of foaming ale with fellow Stanleyites at the Saturday afternoon session. However, I can't say I'm surprised. I know Google Page Ranking is trying his best, but it's a bit much to expect 15 ordinary punters to fork out £70 a quid apiece for sponsorship.

I wasn't expecting 15 ordinary punters to stump up £70 for a Barrel, if that's the way it came across it wasn't meant too. People on here work for companies & people on here own companies hence why I posted it on here as well as it going on the Fishy Site. Also take into account I was trying to get this off the ground without any funding to start with!!

I have contacted over forty Business's in and around Hynburn, Two bit's in the Observer appealing for potential Sponsors as well as contacts I know. Perhaps I could have done more but I have only have so much spare time.:(

What I have got now is a good amount of knowledge of how these Event's work, An amazing amount of friendly, helpful & useful contacts within the Local Brewery Trade that I now know I can call upon to help when needed

I still think there is mileage in the Idea & Concept of a Beer Festival and if we are not in a position to do it when originally intended there is Next Year, maybe during the Summer when there is not too much going on around the Club as a way of bringing in some funds when needed?

Watch this Space!:)

Thanks to everyone who has showed an interest:)

Thats a shame that it might not take place, but maybe next year i`ll be able to include my homebrew, The Mutz Nutz, or i could even do a special Accy Stanley brew for the event and call it Coley`s Kilt :D.
