We can't leave it to spots on radio and a couple of posters dotted around. If 500 aren't sold it'll be a major disaster.

I'll e-mail the commercial peeps, you never know summet might get shiftin'!

picked up a few flyers from the club shop yesterday (they did have quite a few should anybody want to pick a few up),

they will be proudly displayed around the Pendle & Burnley areas:)

One thing that the club may want to consider, should the Clarets make it to the Premiership, is the Clarets have in place the Premiership pledge which means basically STH who bought their tickets before a certain date will be able to watch the games for free at Turf next season:eek:

their maybe a chance to plug us as their second team?

That's a good point. Maybe the club should have an adaption of the present leaflet printed up with an "Have Stanley as your second team...at just over £6 a match, you won't find better value anywhere" theme for distribution in the Burnley and Blackburn areas.

That's a bit worrying. Would have thought we'd have sold more than that by now. Time for a concerted publicity push throughout East Lancs?

Dan, commercial manager & HR {osc** will be doing a leaflet/enrol campaign at the asda this saturday to try & drum up support with extra season tickets. So they are attempting to go at it publically.

That is a great move by the club :) They are also sending letters out to people as well - existing ST holders I pressume - so they are trying to do their best, and 3 in a row means the Team are trying their best as well :D:D:D

Let's hope that Harwood Red can use her persuasive powers to maximum effect at Asda today! I reckon with all that's going on at the moment, they should extend the offer to the end of the season and really make a massive effort to push the deal throughout the area.

Just an update for all of your that are asking, we have currently sold around 315 ST so far. However it is pay day for a lot of people either today or tomorrow so fingers crossed we will be frist on their outgoing list for this month :)

Due to saturday proving to be a big success we had got presentations in order for Accrington & Blackburn college and also looking at approaching another ASDA branch, it was so much fun... Although it would be nice if the injured players could support us as it is in their contracts to "help with any promotion events", I got told by the injured guys that they where all travelling last saturday to find out this morning of Mr Whalley himself that only 1 injured player travelled which ws Pter Murphy. I will now make sure that they do attend as Eric said they must do.

But a big thanks to Kenny, Chris & Andrew for there appearance prior to travelling, and they arent even injured. True dedication that is :P

This season there was around 400 sold.... we aim to excel that amount by a good few hundred :) If im being honest aswell i dont know how many we had sold by this time last year, but if you look at it in the sense that we already have 315 now and the early bird offer isnt up. Theres only 85 more to go before we exceed the 400 mark.
Fingers crossed guys that all the Google Page Ranking work im arranging will pay off...

Thing is, though, we'll have to sell a lot more than the 400, to even make the same amount of revenue from them as last year. I know I keep banging on about it, but I really think the discount offer deadline date should be pushed back, even to the end of the season, to capitalise on the new mood of optimism. Also, think we should be looking beyond the boundaries of Accrington to sign up potential season ticket holders! :)

lancashirelassz 31-03-2009 11:24

Re: Season tickets 09/10

In response to Wynonie, with regards to extending the date for the early bird offer i have put that too my managers today and we are going to discuss it in a meeting on thursday. But i agree that "high margin, low profit" is the best way to go about it. And right now i think it will be extended like it was last year. I also agree that we need more than 400 ST holders, we are hoping to get a lot more than the 400 mark anyways. Quote me if im wrong but was there any sort of Google Page Ranking events last year to promote the ST?

stewthered 31-03-2009 11:34

Re: Season tickets 09/10

hope accy extend the deadline to get in as many as poss to boost gates. I live in Manchester (used to live near accy) and my 2 lads are just getting into football, so for me it's great value with the under 12's scheme. What I will do is make sure we spend money in the ground on refresments & the shop. It only takes me 35 mins to get to the ground with the M60 etc and I am always trying to get others to come to matches. I have a mate originally from accy who travels from Liverpool to games- so anyone around accy who may be a floating fan should come along or even try and come up with £140- you only need to get to half the matches to make it pay.

Pendle Red 31-03-2009 11:58

Re: Season tickets 09/10

this made sound a bit obvious, but as we are at home on Saturday which is deadline day for the Season Tickets and there is potentially 400-500 walk ons there in the flesh...

maybe a final concerted push on flyers around the gates where people are paying to come in would pay divedends, If advertised prior to the game?:)

harwood red 31-03-2009 12:31

And we are handing out player of the year voting slips before the match on saturday so an extra flier at the same time wouldn't do any harm.. don't forget you offered to help us with that too Toni,:D so grab some early bird leaflets, hopefully with the news of an extension and they can be handed out together along with the "fans memories" CD

Good idea Pendle Red :) For me, it would be free/reduced entry against The Imps for anybody who "Signs up on the day" Just another incentive, yes I know that 315 have already signed up - me being one of them - and did not get free/reduced entry  But it would not bother me if the club did that and signed up 200 more, lost revenue maybe but lets face it as so many have pointed out, at £140.00 we must be looking at 1000ish to break even and realistically 1500+ for it to be deemed a real success :) Just my thoughts....

lancashirelassz 31-03-2009 12:43

Harwood Red.... I will be there to help you :) , I will also get some of the forms photocopied so they can be handed out at the same time. If is does get entended (i have no doubt it wont) i will get posters up round the ground for people to see as they walk in and also as they walk around... Maybe the flyers i am going to get done could be handed too them by the turnstile staff so then we know that every person has received one? Would that be too much to ask??

thats summat, think it would have been more productive to extend the price as well. think the P.R. this time has contributed to the extra 100 so far, well done those who worked at it.

maccawozzagod 06-04-2009 19:13

Re: Season tickets 09/10

its only the voucher offer though isn't it? the price for the season ticket HAS gone up but you will still get the vouchers.

rightly so as well if you ask me, if you dont get in in time then tough! Marketing was a lot better this time so well done to all concerned - including the OSC. But as a note for next time, it has to be done as early as possible in as many places as possible. So next year we need to do the same again but bigger! First weekend we hit every supermarket in the borough with an OSC volunteer, AN Other volunteer and a club representative at every possible venue - it can do no harm. Altogether though I am impressed for the first time that the club has seen that it needs to be proactive with these kind of things and has done something about it. Round of applause to the top table please.

Wynonie Harris 06-04-2009 19:43

Re: Season tickets 09/10

I sincerely hope that the club have made the right decision by choosing not to extend the offer. Because, if we don't sell many more than 500, then the whole thing has been a flop. My maths aren't too good, but I seem to recall someone saying on here that we would need to sell 700 even to match last year's income. Personally, I can't see us selling another 200, now the prices have gone up, vouchers or no vouchers. Really, hope I'm wrong, though...

harwood red 06-04-2009 23:49

Re: Season tickets 09/10

I think a further week's extension (with a definate date of easter monday as last chance) on the price could've seen a rush with an extention on the vouchers only till end of season

I don't suppose we'll ever get the real figure. As always, it'll be on a need-to-know basis.

Do you think so? I'd have thought that anyone thinking of buying a season ticket would have done so when they were cheap. If, as it seems highly likely, we lose a lot of our current squad at the end of this season, then who's going to buy a season ticket then? I'd be lucky to get £25 on Ebay for mine! :D

The saga of the Cow Shed continues, I went into the Club shop yesterday to try and clarify, wether season tickets are available for the Cow shed, as there has been a few different opinions expressed. Some people think they have bought one, others think they cannot. I was told again by Lee, season tickets are NOT available, as this area is designated for the match day club. which is a change from the last time I enquired,as I was told it was for away support.Maybethey will make their minds up sometime soon. Meanwhile we have to take it that the regular Cow Shedders will have to move elswhere

At this rate there will not be any room left if the Clayton End, with the seats already taking up some of the standing area.

Wonder why they are moving the Matchday Club??? Thought they where in the best area, players running past them and all that? Does not make sense really.

I wondered about this last night. What is the official 'standing' capacity for the Clayton End? How many season tickets sold are to come off this figure and how many does that leave room for?

I still won't make many matches next season but I'd make even less if I couldn't stand with the noise.

... and I'd certainly be reluctant to make sure I was 20 minutes early to get a place!! :thepint:

We may one day find out some of the answers to those questions  :)

That's if there's any standing in the Clayton End at all. I'm saying nothing.

Mr David O'neill ideas were certainly not set in stone when i talked to him last.

Therefore if there are enough cow shedders who feel strongly about watching the game from there next season, then go see him.....

He will listen trust me

"Me and a few other old codgers would like to stand in the cowshed, David, Is that OK?"

"Certainly, Oggy, we'll put those seats behind the others on the Clayton end", replies David.

"Thanks, David, that's great, what time's kick off these days?"

"What time can you make it, Oggy."

(I can even hear Louis Armstrong playing in the background)

Well, maybe we've got a chance, can't believe we didn't think of it sooner.

A merry christmas to one and all, and bless you Willie Miller, for thinking of us.

Mr O'Neill could you please remove the seats in the centre of the Clayton End and put them at the back where nobody stands, cheers.

Nobody's realistically going to stop people standing where the seats are.
