Anybody know if the club have extended the discount offer?

Today's Accy Observer back page item still has tomorrow as last day for cut price ticket deal.....also gives number sold as 370 :( . Won't include any sold since they went to press. But they could still decide to extend come tomorrow, which would be a good move.

think it would be foolish not to extend.

Re: Good marketing Good idea..

The club could push the deadline back - if only by a few days - and market it in a positive way, rather than it appearing as an act of desparation.
After this weekend sees the end of the fiscal year, there will be a lot more public unrest, helpfully inflamed by the British media. People will be worried by everything from pension eligibility to rises in the price of stamps, and a little gimmick can be made by the club here.
Keep the 'early bird' offer going a little longer and promote relentlessly for just a few days with a leading line of "early birds allowed a little lie in"... or something equally enigmatic and poetic.
I don't know, we just need to do something. Come on Stanley give it a bit more welly.

Right, so it hasn't worked so far. If the club has the slightest idea of marketing and promotion, then they will be sitting down at some point over the weekend and discussing what to do next...
...do they extend the deal?
...if so, for how long...a couple of weeks...or to the end of the season...or longer?
...how do they promote it?...a cheapo leaflet?...posters?...showing their faces at the various events like the Barrowford Show that have be mentioned by other people on here?
...targeting certain segments of the population (think Toni mentioned something about students getting their grant money soon)?
...hitting other towns apart from Accy?
...getting the OSC and maybe other fans involved?

The one thing the club CANNOT afford to do is just leave it and let it die...there's too much at stake for that.

So, come on, Stanley, buck up yer ideas! :)

Re: Good marketing Good idea..

Think the uncertainty at the club could be hampering the ticket sales, a lot of rumour, speculation etc about the ownership of the club & its direction will most definately be a major point especially with the credit crunch, people are a very cautious even more so with doubt of uncertainty. The club & even the OSC & fans [we had some of our members actually helping & trying to push the club & the tickets], so in part we have done our best, next stage is really the club to sort the head of house affairs out quickly & extend the deadline to see where the land lies.

Would of thought the ownership issue would of been sorted & is delaying my purchase as well as the darn seats palavour!

Maybe it's just me Mel but I would imagine that the ownership saga is a good thing for season ticket sales. It keeps us (and in turn our season ticket offers) in the press, and that is a good thing as the club don't seem to be overly fussed about promoting their offers.

Just me then :(

Re: Good marketing Good idea..

Also what is the gate prices for next year, are they frozen or going up? The seats saga is another problem, cos of the pricing too but also having to decide on which option to take when no bloody idea of the layout or look of it done, so to base the decision on ?? cos that could ruin my viewing next season if i happen to get it wrong, so many things to consider other than the obvious money issue. If im having these issues effecting my purchase then how many others, other than those that have got one.

Re: Good marketing Good idea..

The club have done far more than in terms of previous years:
Brilliant ticket pricing
Ticket prices announced early
plenty of promotion, posters out and about, asda day, radio adverts, competitions in the media, club playing good football

How else can they pull in the punters?

Special prices for odd games? but then run the risk of offending season ticket holders

Burnley are running unlimited tickets for season ticket holders for friends and family at discounted prices for their last three home games, this is a two prong attack in looking at trying to fill the ground, then spending once through the turnstiles and getting people who wouldn't normally attend hooked thus buying season tickets for next season?

I really feel for everyone connected to Stanley, cause this in not a mass marketing machine it really is a family club where most people know one another and get along to some in this day and age that would be seen as nostalgia to me if you could bottle what we have and sprinkle it over folk, we would fill the stadium every week. :)

Re: Good marketing Good idea..

The other problem Pendle red is really we are a very small outfit battling with the bigger boys, even with the big boys there is mass competition for bums on seats, we can only punch as far as our finances will allow. This tho is our constant battle tho have impressed them with our pricing, tho they do question how? lol

Re: Good marketing Good idea..

Maybe one other idea, is a try before you buy scheme simply say if you attend the last two games of the season and could produce ticket stubs from those games, you could still qualify for a discounted price (maybe not the full discount, but a partial amount) on the full season ticket price after the deadline?

If they are going to extend they won't announce it until Sunday or Monday, otherwsie the money they will be due to get tomorrow is likely to stay in everyones pocket for a few weeks :)

Watch out for the press anouncement, Sunday or Monday " Due to the popular demand for the bargain price season tickets, we have decided to give as many people as possible the opportunity to take advantage of the offer " ;)

It actually alienates some season ticket holders
