Surely it is the football club we are supporting not the regime. I think the regime at Burnley FC is a good one but I am not going to watch football at Turf Moor because Barry Kilby seems like a decent chap. If I do not support Accrington Stanley Football Club by attending games and donating what I can then the club will be no more :(. With this current disaffection I am afraid we run the risk of Stanley fans losing Accrington Stanley FC 1968 plc and being left with ASSF FC to support in the North West Counties. Divided we fall, united we stand.

I never said don't support Stanley I said this regime at this time doesn't deserve your money and until someone appreciates and recognises the efforts people have gone to by actually taking time to talk to them and explain the situation why should people keep giving.

You know what i'm saying I'm just fed up listening to people say let's all pull together and don't say anything or rock the boat ... Why ? Because it suits the club ? Well it's tough they want money then we should have answers and at least an explanation from the man at the top what's happening.

Sounds fair to me you can't keep expecting people to give blindly forever.

Lets all take Rob Heys at his word. He stated, on radio, that the club was open for people to see how it was run, whether he means inspect the books or not I am not sure, but IF the club is to be open and honest, how come the ASSF and Ilyas Khan are not being allowed to see the true state of affairs?

todays Telegraph

Dave O'Neil is meeting with Ilyas! today!

but "doesn't really know what he wants"

"i don't know why he's picking me out"

"we're going to launch things in the next few days which we think will raise substantial amounts of money"

The article goes on to say that although Eric Whalley's resignation was registered at companies house O'neil is still not the official owner - although "we expect that to happen in the next few days" deja vu?

i'll post a link when i've got more time

Re: O'Neil Where Are You ?

Obviously, not only did he not want to talk on 2BR last night - he didn't want to listen either, everyone who did listen would know exactly what Ilyas wants, the club to survive!

Rob did say that the directors would be putting 120k possibly more into the fund, that is the answer we are all looking for isn't it?
Are the directors donating the money to the SOS fund unconditionaly or are they loaning the money to the club?

Quote:

Rob has explained that David O'Neill's comments were borne out of frustration - he has put alot of money into the club and still his commitment is being questioned,
How much money has O'Neill put into the club? If he is counting the money he paid for Whalley's shares then that money HAS NOT gone into the club, it has gone into Whalley's pocket. Is he counting the £100k he gave to Whalley to pay the tax bill from the winding up order in October 2008?

Re: O'Neil Where Are You ?

Well I've been invited to the club today to meet Mr O'Neil and Rob Heys later this afternoon just awaiting confirmation on time.

Not going with a list of questions just want to talk to them and understand how they think acting as they are is in the best interest of the club and fundraising efforts, people want feedback and answers.

I appreciate the opportunity if it happens.

Just read that article is he in London (Oneil) Well maybe I won't be seeing him then

Well I suppose Mr Khan is a bit more important or maybe they were just calling my bluff but Rob invited me last night to see them both late in the afternoon today which I accepted.

The two Americans who bought Liverpool FC.,raised the money, then transferred the debt from themselves to the club itself. I think Man. United are one of the richest clubs in the world, but also are in the most debt. If the debt can be managed by the club,I suppose thats the way business works.

Really hope that's not the case with our directors, might work ok for the likes of Man.U or Liverpool but more debt is the last thing our club needs.

Re: O'Neil Where Are You ?

Guys

THERE IS NO MEETING WITH ONEIL TODAY. IT IS A FIGMENT OF HIS VERY ACTIVE IMAGINATION.

Since this article appeared, i have had so many texts and emials i thought i better put the record straight. i have no idea why Mr Oneil thinks he is meeting me. At no point in the past few weeks have i had any contact with oneil. Other than his delightful programme note from last friday, that were a joy to read, I have no contact with the supposed majority shareholder of asfc. I have sent messages to the club addressed to him, both directly and through the ASSF. I have'nt a clue as to why he would say he has a meeting with me today. And i am very sorry that this is simply further evidence of the way in which he seems to conduct himself. The last contact I had was with his ceo Rob Heys, which was an email on MOnday which I replied to by asking him to always copy someone else on the email so there was a third person (independent) to verify what was being said. This was to ensure that we dont have a re-run of the past when things are said that prove later to be untrue or inaccurate. i have not heard back from him since.

For the record, therefore, i have no idea why oneil thinks he is meeting with me today. i have not had a request for a meeting, and moreover, if asked, I would be delighted to meet anyone who might help with the future of the club.

i will finish on a positive note - i do hope that the directors raise money from their own pocket. Better late than never. lets get this debt repaid, lets get the team saved. and then lets turn our attention to other matters.
