:(:eek:Redraine is right. We need action NOW.
TRANSPENCY = Give us the facts about the actual financial state NOW.
HONESTY = DON and the board admitting that they need help NOW.
EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT = Positive action with UNITY to get the bill paid this week.
Q to DON - Why no statement on the club website follwing the court appearance and a thankyou to Ilyas for last minute rescue?
All the supporters want is some clear and honest information and to know DON's intentions.

There is a thank you to the fans on the fishy site and also a reminder about the share issue. What person in their right mind is going to buy a share package now to help a club run by a downwright LIAR with Whalley still at his side pulling the strings. Is this bloke an idiot. If he and Whalley disappeared then the share package might be a success.

Tickler 30-10-2009 10:13

Share issue????

I can't help thinking this is yet another ill thought out proposition from the unprofessional management of the club... how on earth can you value the football club that owns nothing ( Not even the ground) and owes a fortune at around 2.5 million whos decided this amount because if you sell 1000 share issues at £250 then this is all for 10% of the club you dont need to be Carol vordeman to work out they think the club is worth 2.5 million and why on earth would anyone in their right mind put £250 of their hard earned money into a bottomless pit run by people who could not run a p*** up in the Crown

It is not one share that is on sale for £250. IT IS A SHARE PACKAGE. Read the notice. The package consists of one share, one shirt, one frame for the share, 10 match tickets and discount off hospitality packages and discount off in the club shop. The share in itself is probably £10. Work that out.

This idiot will be buying one.

It’s not that bad of an Idea. Mr. Khan wanted Mr. O’Neil to recapitalise the club for no personal gain in return for all debts paid (around £500k?)

Mr. O’Neil floated 1000 Class B shares + Package and if sold will net over £300k for the club.

By buying a Share I get a Limited Issue Shirt plus entry into ten games of my choice and a Share in Accrington Stanley….****ing marvellous, what a fantastic idea and I’m going to be one of only a 1000 people to have one.

This is not about investment; it’s about rising funds both SOS and Long term….it really quite attractive and its helping Accrington Stanley.

I actually think that Mr. Khan is a very credible individual and I feel certain that in time we will get the opportunity to buy actual shares as an investment…...(this is if your not hoping to make anything from them in this or any other life time).

it was quoted in the paper yet again that 10% of the club was up for this share issue cant remember they guys name who had quit but that was said in the paper 10% of the club would be up for grabs in this share issue 1000 @£250 to me that means someone probably that o'neil ****** or Rob (i could'nt run a chip shop) Hayes has valued the club at 2.5 million it is simple realy when you work it out

Tickler - Please read the thread from the beginning. The share is valued at £10, this makes the club valued at £100,000. The package costs £250. The package consists of ONE SHARE = £10, ONE FRAME = £10, ONE SHIRT = £40, TEN TICKETS TO GAMES = £150, 10% OFF HOSPITALITY AND CLUB SHOP = £40, THIS TOTALS £250. It is simple really when you work it out.

.....But only on the assumption that the B shares have the same nominal value as the A shares.

Anyway, irrespective of the pigs bum that is the ASFC balance sheet, the biggest asset that ASFC has is the intangible one - namely, the "Goodwill" generated by the brand name. Unfortunatly, under current accounting standards an accurate valuation cannot be made for this.

If Mr O'Neill had the best interests of Accrington Stanley in any form of priority he would've (failing the acceptance of the ASSF offer) donated a percentage of his own shares to be sold on as parts of packages; not used donated money to buy shares from another shareholder. A nice certificate to have on the wall or a club for the future? I know which one I'd prefer for Christmas.

O'Neill hasn't got any shares to donate. Where is the money raised from this share issue going to go? Remember O'Neill has already given Whalley £100k to save the Club in 2008 and he wants his money back.

As far as I know.
If the company goes bust, the directors will be banned from holding a directorship elsewhere, so they can't start up a new company.
Also shar holders will be chased for the debt of the company.

No, I meant directors of a failed company, being banned from being directors of other companies.

Re: 1000 Shares Issue!!!

yes its ture although the length of time they are banned can be varied

imho thats why PM stepped down as it was a huge risk to his other business and he could foresee the appeal failing long before anyone else ie without taking IK offer the club were unable to pay the debt

how right was that!

Re: 1000 Shares Issue!!!

you have hit the nail on the head he can run the club into the gound and walk away

EW is not bothered as far as i aware he is not a director for any other businesses thats why he also stepped down

most of the other directors are semi/fully retired so wouldnt effect them much

the remaining directors i am unsure of what postion this would leave them in if the club was wound up ie are they directors of other businesses

Stephen666 03-11-2009 08:05

1000 Shares

If I was to apply and sent off the form, when would they take the money?
What if the club folded (sorry for being negative) and they had took my money?

Thats quite a dilemma something hard to answer, we dont know for sure how much short we are atm. If the club goes bust then u would have shares in nowt plus lose out on the package offers included.

Yep - it's still on. I had a call from Martin Edmundson this aft.

I told him I'd hung back until the Club's future had been decided and he said that was pretty much the view of everybody he'd spoken to.

He also told me that all the prices are now inclusive of VAT so the entry level price is a straight 250 of your English pounds.

A new dawn indeed.

If you are registered then it's only £217.39 :). It's an interesting one to decide if you can claim vat back. Not sure if the actual share is vatable anyway, but the match tickets and the shirt will be. If the shirt becomes office furniture then I guess thats reclaimable. If you give the tickets away to customers though you can't claim the vat back. Probably easier to forget the reclaim :D

I think the problem they have is that the offer is aimed at both the general public and the business world. Any price shown for sale to the general public has to be vat inclusive if I recall correctly.

Err....a couple of questions:

1) Has the share issue now been reduced to 500, or is it that there are now just 500 left?

2) Has there been any statement made yet on convertability and/or voting rights with this B share issue. Voting rights make the issue a far, far more attractive proposition.

3) Has anyone done an updated search at Companies House in regard to the latest position on formal directors/shareholders?

Yeah, I see it now Sherry.
It mentions both 1000 shares and 500 shares, they seem to be making it all very confusing

SOS Share Issue Campaign
With the support from new board members, Accrington Stanley Football Club has made the decision to limit the number of category B shares packages released for initial general sale.

The original 10% of the club’s shares on sale has been reduced to a total of 5% in order to focus the scheme on individuals and groups who have supported the club throughout the SOS Campaign.

Since the generous contribution from Ilyas Khan and Peter Marsden, the shareholders have seen the remainder of the HMRC debt repaid and the future of the club secured. Initially 1000 category B shares were issued for general sale as part of the popular Share Issue Package scheme. However, discussions about the bright future at Accrington Stanley Football Club under the new regime has highlighted the need to keep the initial shares with the fans and people who are involved in the club on a regular basis. The price of the packages has also been revised to incorporate the VAT accordingly.

The number of shares available has an initial limit of 500, with a further 500 as promised at a later date yet to be specified. Ilyas Khan and David O'Neill are now extremely confident that the future of the club is secure and this two tier release of share equity will allow passionate supporters to become a part of the heritage of Accrington Stanley and the bright future of ASFC. The second tier is expected to be released when the club has achieved independent financial stability and result based success. Therefore the second tier will be released at a higher face value to attract a wider audience of investor and increase revenue to benefit the club.

The full share package includes the limited company B share, a personalised share certificate with unique SOS reference, a limited edition SOS ASFC Joma jersey with the unique SOS reference plus ten tickets to any home league game valid for any season as well as discount vouchers for hospitality and merchandise at the Crown Ground.

For any more information regarding the share issue contact Martin Edmundson on 0871 434 1968 or email [email protected].

I didn't ask for a specific number and got 118 and 119 so I hope it's at least that many.

Not that simple to calculate. I asume that you got the £250 package and the numbers start at 101 so tha would mean only 19 have been sold.
People will also have been asking for specific numbers so these are impossible to workout without asking.

I originaly wanted 666 but can't have it now cause they have been reduced to 500.
I have 243 and my brother has 379.
I have e-mailed Martin just to ask how many have been sold but he hasn't got back to me yet.
Perhaps, when they will make an anouncement on the official website when they have been issued after the 1st of Dec.

on the subject of these 1p shares, are they still recognised by the club?

Re: 1000 Shares Issue!!!

The SOS shares were not registered with companies house originally.
When Ilyas Khan took over he made sure that the people who had bought these where given a new share and consequent free share when he gave his shares away. These are recorded at Companies House.
When Andy invested in the club everybody's shares were diluted quite considerably.
