Went in the other day looking for a scarf , didn't see anything to do with Stanley . Ended getting a scarf from the club shop , which is also better for the club . It looked like they had their christmas stock in and no room for the Stanley .

If you went in the main Ossy Mills then it's somewhere tucked away in one of the back rooms. In the town centre store then it's a small stand down the left hand wall near the back.

We've had quite a few people in the shop asking us for Stanley stuff because there's nothing in the Ossy Mills and they can't make the trip up to the club shop. We even get people in who just want to natter about Stanley, not sure if Ossy Mills stock that service though :D

I'm guessing that Ossy Mills provide the space on a non profit basis. As soon as they find something to fill a space that can make them some profit then I guess the freebies get shoved out. It wouldn't help either if the club don't have stuff to put in the space anyway, Ossy Mills aren't going to let floor space go to waste.

Im hoping the new kit will sell decent, and also says on fishy that new winter coats and scarves etc will be in stock soon, i hope they are smart looking and the coats will probably be cheaper, and if you dont want a shirt, people could grab a scarf or coat instead...

The club have struggled to run the shop after Lee left !! I know a few did'nt think he was any good at running it BUT it was always open wkdays andhe was there, and ther lies the problem the club havent replaced Lee.. On the subject of an out let in the town, when the club had an out let at ossy mill, was it making any money for stanley at all?? Can't see the point in having a self serve stall any way how can you keep an eye on things.. I think seen as xmas and the new home kit is coming ,The club should be looking to rent a shop in the Arndal centre, theres one empty opposit iceland ,i'm sure they could get cheep rent and rates :)

Don't think the property agents in there are particularly charitable or helpful. As far as I know the only things the Arndale themselves are responsible for are the little trade stands, and as the club failed to take up the offer of one day a week in there I can't see the offer being still open.

The offer of free space and staff has been made on more than one occasion. The phrase peeing against the wind springs to mind :D

Exile on Spencer St 18-11-2009 12:25

Re: club shop

Don't expect charity from Arndale. Can't imagine that Stanley could afford town centre rents and shop overheads.
I've bought hats, mugs, car stickers and other stuff from the 'tourist' outlet in the Town Hall and that seemed to be a good place for Stanley's merchandise. But the last time I went in there there didn't seem to be anything much at all.
Now we have a new (honourable) regime I'd hope the club could start to rebuild relationships so that such outlets will be willing to carry some stock.

No there is short as well. Just seen on a website with rovers advertising junior half season tickets for 25 quid, now why cant people at our club do something like that, its been mentioned before!

Redash 30-11-2009 18:12

Our juniors wouldn't pay £25 for the whole season. It's only £1 per game for them.

Juniors at Rovers go up to 16 though. The £1 entry only goes up to 12 at Stanley.

I mentioned that a few week back. Im paying per game but would buy a half season ticket tomorrow if one was available. I have emailed the club and they never got back to me which i thought was a bit of a poor do.

Also with regards the club shop and online store they are both in pretty bad shape and both need redoing. I went in the shop on saturday and there was hardly anything in and half of what was in wasnt priced. They should open an ebay store and list everything on there with the option to buy online then collect from the club on matchday if they dont want to pay for postage ?

Rant over lets get back to on the pitch matters.

Pendle Red 01-12-2009 05:49

Re: club shop

One would have thought if the Club Shop was maybe only staffed a couple of days a week so long as they were clear to everyone, the Shop would do okay encompass into that the effective running of the online store and money starts to turn over.

The shop has had it's faults in the past with lack of merchandise but run properly it is an effective hub in terms of bringing money in and most importantly been a point of contact for the Club

I would still like to see the Club organise a proper pre-Christmas event in the next couple of weeks where stock could be available in the Lounge to purchase, half-season tickets could be pushed, players & management on hand to help serve on & pack your bags of Goodies.

Call it the Santa is a Red Event! Maybe even the big man himself on hand for the younger fans to help push it to the wider community.

Maybe I am getting carried away as it would involve organisation:)
