Increasing Crowds??

Just taken this from Official site, we keep banging on about the low gates at The Crown, would something like this help to increase our gates, as well as giving the Match day Staff, an idea of how many people are going to turn up??

I like the idea of the mix'n'match, kids and parents. Still do not understand how all these Teams, Shrews, Dale, Shakers, Alex, Vale Etc. Get away with charging £18/£20 for League 2 footy?? At £13/£15 we must give the best value for money on the pitch!!! :)

Something to look at in the future perhaps??????

Agreed, good value for money at Stanley.
but I don't think this scheme wil work at Stanley.
As you said earlier prices are already low, how can a further reduction be made? . £13 to stand at the Clayton End (and we all know you can sit for £13 if you want). Under 12's already get in for free as a Redz member and it's free to join.

I am just thinking about the discount for booking initially! To give an idea of numbers, but £10. pre-booked, is an idea to be used in conjunction with 1 or 2 others, more through the gate, more noise, better atmosphere, more 50/50 ticket sales, more programmes, you know the idea!! Just a thought that is all! :)

:)How about this! Any paying adult for the Rotherham game pays £5 all areas as long as a ticket is bought at the same time for the facup match against Gillingham at full price. now thats an insensive to turn up:) but may be to late in the day now :(what you think

Great theory & offers but cant help wonder the commotion its gonna cause with the seat no allocation, presumably the stewards will have to check & escort people to seats, also remove people who have taken the seat [supposed reserved labels will be used], but also confuse people who are used to sitting in 'their usual' places having to move. Something that stanley isnt used to this method as other clubs! What about standing? do u get a reserved spot? lol

Can see the potential but can see problems being exsaperated for stewards & Mick & would have to be a method put in for all games rather than just some, otherwise confused.com it will be & least like with the clayton end seats & loss of standing took a while to adjust to, imho:D

Also great if u can book early but what about those that pay on the gate on the spur of the moment it may discourage tho.

Personally i think the Don actually aquiring E.W.s shares n a statement to ALL sections of the media, saying so, would not do any harm at all. i reckon some would drift back then, without discounts.

Probably be more apt for one of the Tuesday night games coming up and in particular be aimed at away following's as that is where most of the money would come from for such a promotion, if it was also aimed at either Rover's or Burnley season ticket holders as well it may push the crowds up greatly?

Wouldn't hold your breath on that one Cashy, if he was gonna buy the shares the deal would have been done by now

I think any ideas that have the effect of increasing the attendance are to be welcomed.

The question why Stanley are not better supported as occupied a good few minds. But I'm not sure we still know the answer to the question. Is it just down to money, people can't afford go watching football. Is it that a lot more people would go if the team were doing well?

It could be that it's a mixture of both, or some other reason. I'm not sure.

I know that all football fans have been missing the beautiful game, but why would Rotherham fans want to pay a fiver to see us play Gillingham

Just joking, not a bad idea really:mosher:
