Penalties in a play off final, you like the scary rdies don't you :D

The play offs are the best money spinner so it would be good for Stanley to get there. Could be a major financial boost.

I don't think there's a lot of difference between League 1 & 2, but of course if you go up and still keep winning the next step is massive.

A trip to wembley would be best thing ever for the club... the home attendances the next year would definatly go up

I can see parallels coming on with Exeter last season or Stanley storming to the Unibond First Division Championship in Coley's first season with that incredible run or that mid season run that propelled Stanley to the Conference title.

My own feeling is that the automatics beckon.

I thought to myself at the start of the season wouldnt this be great at the end of the season being realistic 1 Rochdale 2 Bury 3 Stanley there is now a realistic chance that this could be acchieved if we keep wining and results go our way oh what a season we are having

Sod Wembley, I don't want to go there, hate London anyway, lets just get automatic promotion - it is not insurmountable or beyond the realms of fantasy, it is stark stone cold reality, be it first or third in the league , who cares, promotion to League 1 would be a massive fillip for the whole club structure.Yes we would still be poor relations to the rest of the league, but success breeds success. My only worry for this season is the amount of games to come, i.e. 21 before the end of April/early May. An extra 3 may be too far to go.

March's fixtures are make or break, have a look at them

Wembley would be a nightmare for anyone against Modern Football. It sums up everything I hate about how football has changed since I was a lad

Corporate strategy, sponsored this & that, sky high ticket prices, all seater stadia etc etc

I will probably be having a bath that day

so, just to amuse myself whilst drunk, if al the top teams had played the same amount of games (assuming games in hand are wins)

Rochdale played 29, points 59
Notts County played 29, points 58
Accrington played 29, points 54
Bury played 29, points 54
Rotherham played 29, points 54
Bournemouth played 29 points 53
Chesterfield played 29,points 48
Shrewsbury played 29, points 45

and we gotta play Rochdale, County and Rotherham at home yet!!!

and yes Valarian, I pressed send a bit early!!!

OK there's gonna be 21 games of number crunching taking place.

No one expects to realistically win all of them, however if we can maintain a points tally equal with the teams above us, win the games in hand, beat Rochdale, Notts County, and Rotherham we could be in an automatic promotioin place?

However:

Notts County have yet to play both Bury and Rochdale so if the above points tally was acheived, Notts County beat Rochdale, but draw against Bury, We could be Champions!

Forget the play offs at Wembley. Not this year anyway. Automatic promotioin is surely goal?

Vic you forgot 4th round FA cup for first time in 52 years, first team to win at both Barnet (FA Cup) and Notts County. Whatever happens, this season will surely be memorable for all the right reasons after all our early season troubles.:mosher:
