Just need to get the accounts filed and the embargo lifted then we can then sign some players & register them to put into a team to then put on it:(

has it never occured to you that Mr Khan would not have that information? this is stuff thats gone on before he became chairman, i find yer defence of these people amazing at the best. also the man who saved us from extiction was chairman from afar, they were left to run things, the fact you are trying to shift the spotlight is disgusting. IMHO.

Re: Pitch

The accountants are on with the job in hand, as stated previously they will be aware of the deadlines but they will be completing a thorough check of trying to make sure that everything stacks up before they submit the accounts. It takes a while to sort these things out and the reason for them taking so long is due to the fact they are trying to find out what went on during the past few years with a lack of records available.

Re: Pitch

Its a checking exercise to make sure that everything done previously has been done to state the accounts correctly. Pierce wont want to put their name to any accounts unless they are sure that they are correctly stated. It could be a range of things such as making sure that the assets in the books are at a realistic value and bein written off to company policy.

The problems go back to the year before when EW rushed the accounts through. As far as I know they were not audited or prepared by any accountants and were rushed through and signed off by Bill Holden on the instructions of DON & Heys. There are amounts in the accounts that Pierces need explaining, particularly "amounts falling due after one year" this amount is £220420 and Pierces will need a breakdown of this figure, also, "amounts falling due within one year" this amount is £520566 and Pierces will need a breakdown of this figure, most of this figure I presume is the tax bill. EW says that Stanley owe him money and I suspect that he is claiming that this amount is included in the £220420 (amounts falling due after one year). I suspect that DON does not know the breakdown of these figures and that he has not got all the records available to him. Ilyas seems to have gone very quiet recently and the transparency appears to have been forgotton. I think that we are in a mess and if it is not sorted out quickly we will be lucky to start the season let alone finish it. Here's hoping that everything is cleared up soon.

The control room isnt an issue at all. It is definatley the pitch.FACT.

From what i understand the control room that was above the changing room is being scrapped and a new purpose built structure will be built above the water tank. For the time being the old control box is located at the back of the coppice end.

It is in the middle of the away end , its located behind the terrace at ground level.

Am I missing something here? If the old control box is behind the Coppice End at ground level, then surely, it's not operational, as by its very nature, a control box should have a clear view of all parts of the ground? So we couldn't have played the Burnley game, anyway. The more important question is how the "new, purpose-built structure" is going to be built in just over two weeks?

Would it not have to have been built in the next few days if the pitch had been fit ?

Have they got planning permission for a new structure ?

All these questions could be posed at the season ticket collecting event next week - I think every single person who goes should, one by one, make a point of asking O'Neil (if indeed he's there) - maybe we could have a set list of questions for everyone to ask and them compare his answers, I'm willing to bet none of them would be the same

stanley convert 23-07-2010 19:03

Re: Pitch

Right as I have it the old contol box (which is at this moment in time sat at the back of the coppice end) will be located on top of a new portacabin in the middle of the coppice terrace for the time being, the new cabin will become the first aid room, the wiring for the cameras, turnstiles, telephone, computers etc is being run along with all the other services that are required as we speak.

Wynonie Harris 24-07-2010 08:28

Re: Pitch

What's the betting that the two portacabins will still be there, being used for exactly the same thing in three years' time?

sausage butty 24-07-2010 10:02

Re: Pitch

The control box is currently located on the floor and we have been instructed to run all cables to it and make everything operational. The cameras will give a general overview of the ground but not every inch.

Whalley Red 24-07-2010 13:03

Re: Pitch

I'm having a difficult time imagining a portacabin in the middle of the Coppice terrace with a control box on top of it.

There will need to be access to them for the people who will be working inside them, so does that mean the Coppice Terrace is effectively split in two for the away fans? Doesn't the location of these cabins in the terrace reduce our capacity further below the necessary 5,000?

It's not on the terrace, it's behind it

That makes sense :)

So the control room will not have visual access to the ground, only via cameras. I presume the police are happy with this.

No the control room will be on top of the new portacabin so in effect it will be above the level of the back wall of the copice end thus giving its inhabitants a view of the pitch.

Anyone seen Ceefax today? we are playing a Blackburn 1X next Sat 31st July kick off 1930, or is this a mistake? It seems funny it's only four days after we should have played Burnley. Maybe the pitch has made a sudden recovery, or is it the Police Box that will be up. Or maybe it's a mistake on the date, no doubt the two will tell us next week.

Gazed at the pitch for a minute or two tonight, it looked verdant and flatter than I had ever seen it !..However, the emerald expanse was marred by the sight of what I thought were two Vultures feeding somewhere adjacent to the Centre Spot (or where the Centre spot would have been had such existed !)...
Thinking on this spectacle whilst cleaning my spectacles I thought that their gathering was not really altogether out of time and place for the occasion !...then I realised that they were actually Pigeons and that was another illusion shattered !...ah well time for our Nitrazepam !.

I'm not sure the lack of a safety certificate is a transfer embargo issue, there again who knows how the Football League work ?

...and as I've said before, it'll still be in use three years from now.

£20,000 spent on a new police control box? There's about as much chance of that as Cashy joining the diplomatic corps. ;)

Chief Executive Rob Heys said: “The temporary cabin meets requirements for now, but what we really need is a permanent structure and is the first priority.
“We are trying to get away from the old way of ‘make do and mend’

Does this imply that our CEO has at last realised and herein confirmed that every effort made up to date has
been on an 'ad hoc' and 'anything will do' basis ??...
We can only applaud his perspicacity and hope for better things !!..

PS...When will a press release from The Crown actually say what it means ?.

Forgive me yonmon, but I had to find out as it was bugging me!

perspicacity - intelligence manifested by being astute (as in business dealings)

Now I know you still have that "sarcastic" streak that I love :) :)

Not really Cowboy !... for 'Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit ' (attributed to Oscar Wilde !)...and I would never stoop to employing it on our Forum !..call me a lover of Irony and Litotes if you like, but Sarcastic...never !.
