www.wearestanley.co.uk
Evening everyone.
Just before we let the world know that they can purchase tickets / merchandise / memberships and everything else we can fit into an online store. We have decided to give this forum free reign over the new website. Just for you to play with it, try it out, register your online accounts, etc etc. Remember, this site is now live so feel free to email me your thoughts. It is flexible and will be changed and updated with more stock daily, as well as current information. Pay particular interest if you have purchased an item before (season ticket holders and members) as you should have a complete purchase history from the club. This is under the My Account settings. The site is also available from the tabs on our main website screen. (Thank you Tony) The Burnley pre season fixture will also go live shortly so you will be able to buy tickets for this game very soon. I hope you find it easier than the last online store, I'm very sorry it took us so long to get this new one up. Lewis |
Re: www.wearestanley.co.uk
Just registered site looks good!! Nice one Lew, massive step forward IMHO :)

Re: www.wearestanley.co.uk
I typed my details in and it said it had found me already, have you created accounts for people already on your system? if so how do I receive my password? I tried the email details but it just sent me a blank email

Re: www.wearestanley.co.uk
Hi, I forgot to ask, If possible, please could you just put specific questions into an email instead, that way I can respond quicker and get any issues ironed out for you. [email protected]
K.S.H, If you have purchased any item from the store over the last month, or purchased a season ticket. Have a look at your season ticket number or the 3/4 digit number on your receipt, this is your membership number. On the drop down option on the login menu, change the option to client ref/postcode and you should be able to enter without the need for a password. You can then change or reset your password from there. If your struggling, email me your name (real) and not your forum name of course :) and I will get it resolved for you. Cheers |

Registered. like it Lew, another move in the right direction!!! :) :) :)

Re: www.wearestanley.co.uk
Much better than the last one.
A note however, make it easy as hell to buy stuff. Like really remove any possible hurdles. I cannot find the refernence however there was a case I read upon a few months ago which showed how an e-commerce branch increased sales by >30% by removing the need to register an account to buy something, you lose some customer profiling however you gain hard cash. If you are really smart about it you give the option to create an account after the purchase has been made, when all they need to do is add a password to the information they've already given. Current flow of buying a shirt: *Arrive at WeAreStanley *See shirt on featured items *Select more info. *See information on shirt(rather uninformative information, a combo box named options with no indication as to what it relates to, have to click to find out it is used to choose a size, redundant data is displayed, red/white & short sleeved doesn't change so why is it displayed ?) *See printing options *Enter printing options(slight bug, if you type something in then delete it, you get charged for printing even if there is nothing there, you have to click clear printing to lose that fee, the web dev should put a IF($PRINT_FIELD == NULL) Fee = 0; statement to fix that) *Select add to basket *Proceed to checkout *See log in page *Enter last name and email *Select I need to register *Enter details *Payment Process This could be dramatically cut down: *Arrive at WeAreStanley *See shirt on featured items, with combo box for selecting size and add to basket button, select size add to basket *Proceed to checkout *OPTION of logging in, or just enter in delivery details *Payment Process Another small note is when entering your address you have to do so manually, there is no postcode lookup function. ... and now I've geeked out the place I'll leave :) |

Re: www.wearestanley.co.uk
Hi chaps.
Cashman, if you email me your membership number it is an easy fix and something that is usually slightly wrong with the text your inputting, I have done this several times already for people who have emailed me thus far. Samf Thank you, these points are what we need to tweak in order to carry out the full testing. At the moment the site is fully operational and solid in terms of the information we are recieving at this end and indeed items are being dispatched easily already. In terms of the neccessity to construct a membership log in or registration, remember you only have to do this once, and in many cases most people will have this set up already. The idea is to capture the information so that we can utilise it to everyone's benefit. For logistical reasons it means that itemised products and full invoice address are attached to the sale. For you as supporters, your registration allows you to add friends and family, manage your account, check your purchase history. etc etc. The process you mentioned is for a one off transaction, whereby it is simpler and much more informative in subsequent visits. The real benefits will be seen when purchasing tickets for yourself, friends or family. The products will show as out of stock, because we can assign a pre order function, so that stock is not redundant. Once the lead times have settled, all stock will have a pre order button instead of an out of stock icon. Allowing you to assign a product to your basket. The other points as mentioned will be formulated and sent back to the web site admin team. Thanks |

Re: www.wearestanley.co.uk
If you have purchased any item from the store over the last month
I have but no-one took any details off me or purchased a season ticket. Have a look at your season ticket number or the 3/4 digit number on your receipt, this is your membership number. Bought season ticket over phone, there not out yet so I can't check number, no receipt, if same as old season ticket then I'll have to nip up Whinney hill tip and try and find it :D On the drop down option on the login menu, change the option to client ref/postcode and you should be able to enter without the need for a password. You can then change or reset your password from there. If your struggling, email me your name (real) and not your forum name of course :) and I will get it resolved for you. Still not letting me in, tried season ticket for this season (IF I remembered number correctly!) Email sent |
Re: www.wearestanley.co.uk
I've solved it Lew, now logged in OK

Re: www.wearestanley.co.uk
Lew,
Slightly confused; was told by Commercial Team that last year's season ticket number would be the ASFC number for life?? My lad was no 2. I've tried to add him to my new account and he's been allocated another number?? Also you're ready to sell tickets for the Burnley home game on the 27th of July. You sure this date is correct?? It's been in the press and on Southport's official site that we play at Haig Ave that night. Surely we won't have enough players to make two teams up??? |
Re: www.wearestanley.co.uk
Site looks great.
Registered no problem. |
Re: www.wearestanley.co.uk
Problem I was having was the email, I filled in the "Email me my details"
I did receive an email but it appeared to be blank, image not showing so selected "View>Load images" (In evolution) Still blank apart from the new logo Tried again - same thing Then I decided to highlight all the email and the text shown up :D So - I received an email with an image with a white background and the text was white All sorted now PS looking at my history I seem to have bought 23 season tickets for next season, not bad for £190  |
Re: www.wearestanley.co.uk
I'll have one off you Ken!!

Re: www.wearestanley.co.uk
That is looking like a mighty fine website. Been having a little play around with it, and I'm impressed... I like that web orders can now get names & numbers printed on shirts (makes me very tempted to get Fatso 42 on the back of one...). Seems to have a decent range of products on there, and is a huge improvement over the old store; that it now shows which products are currently available, and which, are sold out is a significant aspect that was always lacking from its previous incarnation. So. Yes, impressed. If the delivery speed is as efficient as the site I'll be a happy wombat.
Just one question; have kids' replica shirts always been so expensive? I was thinking of getting one for my daughter; the smallest is a 6 year old's and she's 5 (she can grow in to it a bit!), and that's £29.99, which is only a fraction lower than the price of an adults. Maybe it's always been that way, and I'll freely admit I've not looked in to the pricing of kids shirts before, but I'd have expected rather more difference in the prices... |
Re: www.wearestanley.co.uk
They was on about pricing of kids shirts on watchdog last weel Fatso, they have always been comparitivly expensive, n umbro n the companies that make em, use the excuses etc n say its justified.:( so aint down to stanley or any club. its the greedy pigs that manufacture em.

It does seem odd that, to all intents and purposes, they're near enough the same price for a 6 year old's as an adults. Especially when you bear in mind that of the difference in the prices paid by the punter, most of that will be the government's cut; the VAT. (In that adult's clothes have VAT at 17.5%, whereas children's clothes are zero rated.) |
Re: www.wearestanley.co.uk

Junior shirt is £29.99 and zero VAT rated so the difference the club are charging in effect is 64p less for a kids shirt. It does look like someone is ripping someone off somewhere. How do the club justify 64p difference between the 2 shirts I wonder. Maybe a club representative would like to explain how the 2 shirts only cost 64p difference to make? |
Re: www.wearestanley.co.uk
The club don't make the shirts, Joma do though.

And irrespective of whether the minuscule difference in price is down to the club, or the manufacturer, it's quite an anomaly. And the "excuse" given on Watchdog (just go to about 53 minutes in, if you want to go straight to the relevant bit) was very much of the "dog ate my homework" variety... essentially, it was down to the cost of designing the shirts, and transporting them... ho-hum... |
Re: www.wearestanley.co.uk
Glad ya could watch it mate, the makers of these shirts refused to send a rep to watchdog.

Re: www.wearestanley.co.uk
There appears to be little difference in price between the adult and junior sizes of the shirt it is based on and the embroidery, badges and logos will be the same for both shirts so i would expect the difference to be similar plus VAT on the Adult one.

Re: www.wearestanley.co.uk
Unfortunatley childrens clothes can cost as much as adult clothes for a retailer to buy. We have certain baby hoodies which cost us £2 more than an adult one. Blame the manufacturers not the club. In actual fact Stanley shirts are cheap compared to most other clubs.
|
Re: www.wearestanley.co.uk
:) I spoke to lew today and he explained the pricing of the shirts to me!! Here gose what he said, well what i can remember.. Basically the cost per shirt is very similar but the problem lies in the embroidery, the machines run on templates and the stitching is severly difficult on the smaller sizes and is manually fed into the machine whereby a larger adult size is easier due the size of the stitching target. Thus we incur a heavier embroidery cost for junior shirts than adult ones. :) I know with having kids of my own that things an't cheap and as lancsdave said in his post kids stuff is sometimes dearer to buy than adults,i do think that we're getting replica shirts £4 or £5 pounds cheaper than at the start of last season think i payed £39.99 for my home shirt now its £35.99 we're cheaper than other football clubs for what they sell there replica shirts for:)
|
Re: www.wearestanley.co.uk
I tell you what... the current offer of 25% off kids replica shirts made it far too tempting to resist get one for little Maddie (I suppose I should update my avatar; that's her the day she was born! she's rather bigger now...!).
And the money saved on the shirt itself has been put to good use; paying for her name to go on the back! :) I was going to get myself one as well, but I'm holding off on that in case one of the forthcoming offers is for adult shirts... |
