its in this weeks accy observer on the back page .. now i always thought that the accy observer was printed on a wednesday .. i bought this today about 2pm ... it says that stanley officials inspected the pitch on thursday morning and said it was a no-go.

Will the pitch be ready for the Burnley game? I sincerely hope so. It’s looking a bit thin in places but the pitch contractor is fairly confident that we can play on there. The makeup of the pitch itself is different to other pitches, unlike park pitches which are just soil. Ours is now a sandy composition that we have to keep watered, we don’t really need grass on it effectively but it’s nice to play on green isn’t it! |

Having been up at the ground most days since the pitch was relaid I have said it would be touch and go as to whether it would be ready, from the touch line it looks great but when you go on it the grass is very thin down the middle, anyway we can all go to southport now and give Rocky some stick, could be more entertaining than the dingles.
