Re: Carling Cup -v- Newcastle!!
I personally think it could price many an under-16 out of the game.
Imagine the atmosphere, the buzz, the occasion, could create many a life-time fan. Thus creating much needed revenue. But if the ticket is priced too high this will not happen. Think long-term Stanley. |
Re: Carling Cup -v- Newcastle!!
Thankfully it is not a school night otherwise every school child would be watching it from the sofas.
£15 is steep to say it's on Sky. Expect normal midweek attendance. |
Re: Carling Cup -v- Newcastle!!
You may say that £15 is steep for concessions, but I think the ground will still be full with all the wannabees coming for such a big match for Stanley, then won't be there for next home match.

I expected adult prices which is fine but pricing out on concessions will back fire & lose out of capturing them later. |
Re: Carling Cup -v- Newcastle!!
this should be a time where the gloy hunters, the big game only stanley (fans)the club try and get them into the next home game, somehow, i dont know how

Re: Carling Cup -v- Newcastle!!
The suits have royally chuffed up with the admission prices this year. I shudder to think how many walk-ons we've lost because the cheap-local-club imperative has been compromised.
There's nothing we can do about it now though. The majority of home supporters will be the 'faithful one thousand'. The magnificent Ultras will do what they do behind the goals. Everyone else must do everything possible to make the Crown Ground a fortress for this game. The visiting players will hate it, and it's undeniable that our team has that extra 10% whenever the crowd's on top form. Win or lose we shall be victorious, but to win would be ace. :D |

There will be an attentative audience not just in the ground but also nationally & internationally A real chance to move up a gear or two in every department and show ourselves in a great light on & off the pitch. A Few ideas could be: Fill the Programme with info on perhaps a major incentive for ticketing for the next home game or future home games to encourage people to come back Use the P.A. System to do the same job Coporate Side of things could also pick up on similar things for future hospitality & sponsorship incentives For once we don't have to go looking for good publicity the world is coming to us:alright: |

Re: Carling Cup -v- Newcastle!!
To put the ticket prices into perspective, for a family of 4 it will cost £70 to watch a Carling Cup game! A family of 4 could go to the England game on Wednesday and watch the game at Wembley for £60. This is just another example of the management at the club making a bad commercial decision. How can a club of this size expect to gain an increase in fanbase when at the first opportunity it whacks prices up to a rip-off. This has really got me angry, at the end of the day the game is on sky so the club will receive a sizeable chunk of money for this, dont forget according to Mr Heys we will break-even this season and cup runs are a bonus! Why not use this as an opportunity to build links with the wider local community? For example offering a family ticket for £40 would have been a good way of giving something back to the fans. I think in truth the prices will end up scaring a lot of people off. I honestly think that the lower ticket price would have made the game a sell-out and therefore the club would make more money through the bar and club shop etc. I will pay to watch the Morecambe game instead!

Re: Carling Cup -v- Newcastle!!
this will sell out, i have 16 people who have asked me for tickets most of whom have been to one or two stanley matches with me in the past.
£20 is no deterent. Ironically, im struggling for a ticket, but a certain someone is sorting me out. |
