Port Vale Thread
Greetings all
For those of you sitting and trying to find a stream to watch tonight's game from the comfort of your own homes... well it's a family forum!!! It's FREEZING already at Vale Park. The covers have just come off the pitch and it's already looking frosty. No whispers on the team as yet, but I'll go and see what I can find out! ... Teams are in and stanley are as follows, Dunbavin, Winnard, Hessey, Long, Edwards, Procter, Barnett, Jacobson, Puterill, Parkinson, Gornell. |
Re: Port Vale Thread
Subs for The Reds
Cisak, Bateson, Richardson, Joyce, Turner, Owens, Boulding. McConville and Ryan fail fitness tests |
Re: Port Vale Thread

Re: Port Vale Thread
Doug, I have three t shirts, a jumper, two jackets and a coat, plus two thick pairs of socks in my boots, hat, gloves, the lot and I'm still perishing!
And it doesn't help that the PA system started with Katy Perry's "California Girls" and has now moved onto "Firework" What next? Sunny afternoon by the Kinks or anything by the Beach Boys??? |

Let's hope it's a good night on the pitch for you Dan. I'll think about you while I'm sat in a nice warm kitchen drinking a nice cold glass of Ale.

Re: Port Vale Thread
Forgive me asking; anyone picking up any live coverage?
|
Re: Port Vale Thread
Evening Nige
Got a little tale for you now... Our colleagues from BBC Radio Stoke are doing their whole programme live from the ground, so are doing loads of pre-match interviews. One of the Stanley contingent is stuck in traffic on the way and listening. Apparently they've ended every interview by asking who Vale want in round three, and just said that Stanley will play for a draw tonight. The staff member in question has phoned Coley, who has passed the information on to the players!!! |
Re: Port Vale Thread
evening Dan.
Is superman sitting on the bench with the rest of the team? |
Re: Port Vale Thread
There's something disconcerting about a man in a dog suit, wearing Port Vale kit playing keepie uppie in the centre circle to ear bleedingly loud music on a freezing November night.
The Americanisation of British culture is more rife by the minute! |

Re: Port Vale Thread
1: very early chance for the home team - rob taylor crosses from the left and right back adam yates is free in the area at the back post - sticks it wide
|
Re: Port Vale Thread
cheers dougie baby.:D
|
Re: Port Vale Thread
Ultras have been non stop since the first whistle. Superb support as ever.
Not a lot else to report. Though doubtless most of you are watching by some means, branding me largely redundant!!! |
Re: Port Vale Thread
9: Hessey does well to block and hook away a venemous shot from Gary Roberts (not that one!)
|
Re: Port Vale Thread
Never Dan; we're still faithful to the Stanley No 1 Comms man. 50/50
|
Re: Port Vale Thread
14: tame shot from Putterill held by Tomlinson
|
Re: Port Vale Thread
And Doug, no need to suck up - no Dany tonight!!!
|
Re: Port Vale Thread
They've bust the ball
|
Re: Port Vale Thread
16: almost a disaster - Rob Taylor burst down the left channel, bav comes out, doesn't get there, Taylor shoots but Long clears off the line
|
Re: Port Vale Thread
Phewwwww that was close
|
Re: Port Vale Thread
When I say Long, I mean Hessey!

Man, I'm impressed with the Ultras sound (watching on P2P)
|
Re: Port Vale Thread
IM concerned
we re constantly 2nd to the ball, physically we are inferior and our strikers are unable to hold the ball up. The vale pressure is starting to build up and Proctor is like a headless chicken in midfield. We need to get someone on the ball to dictate the play. |
Re: Port Vale Thread
23: 1-0 to Vale
Cross comes in from the right hand side - header down at the back stick and Justin Richards is there to stab it in from close range |

Re: Port Vale Thread
Jacobsen just tried an audacious volley after being set up by Barnett.....he had acres of space and time.....I think he saw the headlines though :S
|
Re: Port Vale Thread
Jacobson-what a wally to volley that cross. dumb.
|
Re: Port Vale Thread
ooops sorry, I clicked on the link out of curiosity and 10 seconds later the goal was scored. I've turned it off again now :)

Re: Port Vale Thread
Phil needs to up his game. He's allowed far too many crosses to come in and his distribution is terrible, although it's never good at the best of times.:(
|
Re: Port Vale Thread
Lads are looking good & keen especially in the last 10-15 mins, Ref seems reasonable & is letting the game flow & for me Barnett is the main mover & shaker.
|
Re: Port Vale Thread
We are back. No changes

|
Re: Port Vale Thread
That's it. And my computer is frozen. Literally!!!
|
Re: Port Vale Thread
gutted with that thought we really put ourselves about but lacked the cutting edge
|
Re: Port Vale Thread
We knocked the ball around fine in their half, but our passing too often ends up being profligate due to the lack of a striker who can make the right runs. We offered no threat to the Port Vale defence inside the box. We have good creative midfield players but it's useless when there's no one to receive the pass. It's such a shame as if we were in possession of such a striker we could've done Vale tonight and justified a lot more of our good performances this season with wins.
Safe journey home Reds. |
Re: Port Vale Thread
so its the lancs cup 4 us then bring on pne
|
Re: Port Vale Thread
We were very unlucky tonight, Vale won the first half, but we dominated the second totally and should have come away with a victory!!! Very unlucky at the death, with a clearance off the line.....:(
Thought the subs to be strange ones, but who knows  All in all, the Team gave a great account of themselves, FANs "Loud and proud" as always :) :) We missed Jimmy, but that is something we will have to get used to! JJ had a good game. Still believe we need a good striker/poacher.. Bring on The Shrews!!!!!!!!!! |
