Port Vale Thread

Greetings all
For those of you sitting and trying to find a stream to watch tonight's game from the comfort of your own homes... well it's a family forum!!!

It's FREEZING already at Vale Park. The covers have just come off the pitch and it's already looking frosty.

No whispers on the team as yet, but I'll go and see what I can find out!

...

Teams are in and stanley are as follows,

Dunbavin, Winnard, Hessey, Long, Edwards, Procter, Barnett, Jacobson, Puterill, Parkinson, Gornell.

Re: Port Vale Thread

Doug, I have three t shirts, a jumper, two jackets and a coat, plus two thick pairs of socks in my boots, hat, gloves, the lot and I'm still perishing!

And it doesn't help that the PA system started with Katy Perry's "California Girls" and has now moved onto "Firework"

What next? Sunny afternoon by the Kinks or anything by the Beach Boys???

Let's hope it's a good night on the pitch for you Dan. I'll think about you while I'm sat in a nice warm kitchen drinking a nice cold glass of Ale.

Forgive me asking; anyone picking up any live coverage?

Dan 26-11-2010 18:32

Re: Port Vale Thread

Evening Nige
Got a little tale for you now...

Our colleagues from BBC Radio Stoke are doing their whole programme live from the ground, so are doing loads of pre-match interviews. One of the Stanley contingent is stuck in traffic on the way and listening.

Apparently they've ended every interview by asking who Vale want in round three, and just said that Stanley will play for a draw tonight.

The staff member in question has phoned Coley, who has passed the information on to the players!!!

DAV007 26-11-2010 18:33

Re: Port Vale Thread

evening Dan.

Is superman sitting on the bench with the rest of the team?

Dan 26-11-2010 18:39

Re: Port Vale Thread

There's something disconcerting about a man in a dog suit, wearing Port Vale kit playing keepie uppie in the centre circle to ear bleedingly loud music on a freezing November night.

The Americanisation of British culture is more rife by the minute!

Out of interest did anyone else not travel to Port Vale because of the price (£20)?

I refuse to pay £20 for league 2 this season, sick of being ripped off.

Ultras have been non stop since the first whistle. Superb support as ever.

Not a lot else to report. Though doubtless most of you are watching by some means, branding me largely redundant!!!

DAV007 26-11-2010 19:09

Re: Port Vale Thread

IM concerned

we re constantly 2nd to the ball, physically we are inferior and our strikers are unable to hold the ball up.

The vale pressure is starting to build up and Proctor is like a headless chicken in midfield. We need to get someone on the ball to dictate the play.

Dan 26-11-2010 19:10

Re: Port Vale Thread

23: 1-0 to Vale
Cross comes in from the right hand side - header down at the back stick and Justin Richards is there to stab it in from close range

Re: Port Vale Thread

We knocked the ball around fine in their half, but our passing too often ends up being profligate due to the lack of a striker who can make the right runs. We offered no threat to the Port Vale defence inside the box. We have good creative midfield players but it's useless when there's no one to receive the pass. It's such a shame as if we were in possession of such a striker we could've done Vale tonight and justified a lot more of our good performances this season with wins.

Safe journey home Reds.

Re: Port Vale Thread

We were very unlucky tonight, Vale won the first half, but we dominated the second totally and should have come away with a victory!!! Very unlucky at the death, with a clearance off the line.....:(

Thought the subs to be strange ones, but who knows

All in all, the Team gave a great account of themselves, FANs "Loud and proud" as always :) :)

We missed Jimmy, but that is something we will have to get used to!

JJ had a good game.

Still believe we need a good striker/poacher.. Bring on The Shrews!!!!!!!!!!
