Spot on Shaker, been saying it all season, yet all we keep on getting is midfielders and defenders!!!!!!!!

4-4-2?

presumably Boulding is up top with Gornall so that puts 2 out of Ryan Craney and Putterill on the wings .... none of them playing to their strengths.

sounds like Stanley turned up in fur coat but no knickers to give Barnet an early Christmas pressie

Was today not the last of Kevin Long's loan spell? I'm sure his 2nd month expired on 11th Dec (today), or has he been kept on for a further month?

Personally, although the lad has improved during his loan spell, I'm not convinced he's done enough to be keeping Stanley's own players out of the team, some of whom are now probably getting a bit downhearted at the lack of chances coming their way.

To me, the best performances of the season all came in the first 10 or so games. Lots of chopping and changing since and the results have been up and down to say the least.

Correct. Unless he is any good at management he's probably better off at Stanley. If he is keeping players out then surely it's because he is better than them ?

It depends on the terms of the loan agreement. Some loanees have it written into the loan conditions that they must play, I'm not saying that's the case here, i just don't think it's in the long term interest of Stanley to borrow players at the expense of their on.

The loan market is actually termed "the emergency loan" but is abused by all clubs. I'm just not a lover of loan players at all. I much prefer to see the players who are contracted to a club given a fair crack of the whip.

Maybe a time will come when lower league clubs don't actually "own" any players, but have teams made up entirely of players loaned from the top 2 leagues. I hope not, but more and more loaned players seem to be making up teams these days.

It was one of those games where we could have played all night without scoring. Our shots were agonisingly close - one was cleared off the line and Hessey hit the bar. We seemed to dominate much of the game but without playing as fluently as we have been earlier in the season - and without scoring that vital goal.

I'm not happy about the defence. Phil is much better at centre back than full back. Please let's have Jonny Bateson back. His tackling, his speed in supporting a winger and his long throw-ins are all sadly missed. I also think that Luke Joyce was missed today.

Joe Jacobson had a great shot saved and had a reasonable game before being substituted. Ian Craney was no better than Ray Putterill or Andy Parkinson, and was too often caught in possession.

Not unless they change the rules, think the maximum is 5, maybe 6. From memory I think Stoke got promoted to the Premier League with the maximum of loanees. Not too sure it makes a lot of difference. You would like to think if players are contracted they would give more effort and loyalty. Sadly this is proffesional football not the real world we are discussing here

I know the rules only allow a maximum of 5 at any time, but my opinion is that it's 5 too many. Your opinion is different and i respect that. So why the sarcastic roll eyes emoticon? Does my opinion not count when compared to yours?
