Online now, with a slight update on the ownership issue

Accrington Stanley 'pay up' to avert auctioneers moving in (From Lancashire Telegraph)

Re: Brace yourselves in again please ....

Let's hope the use of the phrase 'seemingly to avert an auction' in that article is only there as the payment hasn't as yet been confirmed by HMRC to the auctioneers

Re: Brace yourselves in again please ....

Good news - there is a cancellation of auction notice on C W Harrison's website :)

Re: Brace yourselves in again please ....

the article pretty much just says that if EW doesn't get his arse into gear with settling up then it may force Stanley into administration. Basically Ilyas has said that he will support the club in the short term once the ownership issue is sorted out (ie he aint paying for things until its sorted). He goes on to say that EW has been co-operative but nothing has been signed yet.

On the letters page there is also a letter from Steve O'Brien who used to be the reserve team manager amongst other things, saying that the club owes EW a lot for all he has done over the years.

I doubt if anybody will dispute that, but it is quicker to demolish something than build it

bet O'Brien aint saying, everyones aware of the good E.W. did, n also destroyed "ALL" credibility by lack of action by himself n DoN, when the club went to court. but for Mr Khan the club would have been history, if E.W. is to gain any credibility back, then he should sever ties P.D.Q. no-one should ever forget that.

Re: Brace yourselves in again please ....

I really hope we dont go down the administration route, one of the few things we have been able to take pride in is the fact that we have always managed to sort out our problems without avoiding paying them. We have a decent chance of making the play-offs too but with a ten point deduction this would go out of the window. I would also be worried about what effect this would have on JC, he has already said he would be interested in the Bradford job maybe this might be the final straw to push him over the edge. He has built up a good squad for this season and admin would result in possible redundancies and a firesale of players to pay off debts. Also by going into admin would this not make EW the main creditor and wouldn't he have the final say on any agreement for a CVA?

Re: Brace yourselves in again please ....

I think IK is the main creditor :)
