Re: Accy's strongest 11
Red blooded,I have now read your first post and just a few comments, playing Hessey at right back, hes a centre back whos left footed!,JC tried him at left back and it didnt work!!!,Did you go to the preston game recently?,Chris was tried in your suggested position and he was like a duck out of water and he got subbed.
If you dont do it at resis level you wont get a sniff at first team level. Regarding Deano, who you dont like,HES A DEFENDER,first and foremost, playing every game but one ( lost 3-1),and the team has only lost 8 league games, and hes not playing in his prefered centre back position due to Phil playing so well,so he cant be doing that badly. Finally sean mac is not a forward, hes more effective in a roaming roll facing goal, not with his back to it as Gornall is so good at / |

Re: Accy's strongest 11
Redraine, hands up,thats a very witty reply!!!!!,Theres too many sharp people on this web site,i will be getting a complex soon.
PS I did forecast last july that sean mac would have a good season, and hes not letting me down yet!!!! |
Re: Accy's strongest 11
i once posted a thread asking people who they thought our best XI ever was (pound for pound at all levels) and got half a dozen indignant replies that the current one is the best ever undisputably (must have been the 1st season in the FL)
For what its worth. Dunbavin Bateson Edwards Long Jacobson Proctor Joyce Ryan Barnett Putterill Gornall Winnard loses out as JJ offers more going forwards in my opinion and Id like to see Deano play more at centre half as and when required - but he offers great versatility right across the line Craney loses out as I think the other three attacking midfielders offer more regular effort and all four are equally as gifted in different ways at cerating match winning moments. Putterill has to play more often to get back to his mazy runs. Sean Mc loses out for a whole host of reasons but I like to know he's there on the bench. Crewe winning goal was fantastic but he doesn't do anywhere near enough of that. Boulding and Linfield won't even make the bench Im afraid and will have to pay £13 to come in |
Re: Accy's strongest 11
Very valid points Macca. i too would try a different backline at times and include Bateson rather than Deano. Good player but other players could more than fill his boots and offer more in some games.
Also agree re Boulding and Lindfield. They dont offer any real threat from the bench. |

Re: Accy's strongest 11
I know mate, I just feel Phil keeps making alot of mistakes, and with the way Hessey is playing.......... alongside Long would be immense
|
Re: Accy's strongest 11
The way Hess played today, he would not get on the bench!!!!

Re: Accy's strongest 11
Beats me how anyone can include Proccy in a strongest 11, good 100% er no question, but strongest 11? yer havin a laugh.
|
Re: Accy's strongest 11
Must disagree mr Cashman,Proctor is a very effective player, always gives 100%,and is probably Accis best defensive midfielder.
Regarding this thread, the strongest 11 is not necessarly the best team 11, Its all about combinations,10 messi,s wouldnt make Barca a better team. ( although they would be entertaining!!). |
Re: Accy's strongest 11
Proccy first name on t'sheet fer me Cashy.
