smudgie, some good points there,I must admit the keepers presence ( all 6-3 of him ) makes the back four look abit more solid.
Indeed,I always like a keeper who commands his area and not scared to come and catch or punch the ball away.
Impressed with his game at the moment, just the odd communication problems, but that comes with experience, plus its hard to dominate experienced defenders ( talking),but hes doing ok.
He should get a bit of a slap on the back for 3 clean sheets on the run

OK we got away with it, SCFC were the worst team to grace the hallowed turf, Hess had a brilliant game but so to did Luke Joyce. The best thing for me was the SCFC fans singing throughout the second half that the team were not fit to wear the shirt and when the team went off the fans were even more incensed by the fact that a couple of players actually applauded them singing the above. Priceless. To say were are a club in crisis (financial) SCFC are a rag tag and bobtail outfit with no direction except down, which in my view is a pity. If they do go down, it may just do them some good, but lets hope they don't expect to bounce back at the first attempt. Ask GTFC, York and others.

Should point out the pitch last night was slippy more than anything else. Rain was very light and persistant and made the section in the middle a bit sticky hence players slipping or standing on the ball.

I wasn't going to moan about last night, but since you have set the ball rolling, here goes......:)
How many times do we waste free-kicks (Hessey's strike excepted) by leaning back and ballooning the ball over the bar, rather than hitting hard and low? 9 times out of 10 the defenders will jump up expecting a high curler. Seems daft to me. Gornell had a good game last night, but twice wasted golden opportunities in the first half by getting brilliantly round the back of the defenders and going for glory. Both times he scuffed his shot terribly, when there were two team mates begging for a pass in the middle. Ironically, he had his hands up in horror when someone did the same to him in the second half, which gave me a sick laugh.

I think one thing which dictated the flow of the game last night was the swirling wind.
I didnt noticed it (sat nice and warm in my seat!!),but once it started to rain,if you looked up at the floodlights it was swirling in all directions!,this with a uneven playing surface and dead in places didnt help our cause and i can see why we went long now

3points from a very poor Stockport side. From back to front they really we're the worst i've seen at the crown for a while.

I thought Joyce had a cracking game. broke up the play excellently and rarely gave the ball back to the opposition, deserved his MOM, closely followed by a good performance from Hessey.

Also, the clayton was back on form last night :) :)

One County fan wasn't best pleased last night, nor very complimentary. At least some of the replies he got were a bit more friendly
