Re: Southend Thread

thanks Dan. Interesting that Coley alludes to us having 'passed up opportunity to go into the play-offs" in the past. Last season we had ninety four games postponed that would have seen us into the play offs had we played and won - what chance the weather will beat us again!!!!!! (joking of course)

cashman 04-04-2011 22:00

Re: Southend Thread

my thoughts on that comment are last season we had a few who were not quite as keen. plus certain players have improved big time.

Nickelson 05-04-2011 07:06

Re: Southend Thread

Coley needs 1 point to match the record points set last season. For ever improving the 11th straight year.

Head long and proud Stanley back into League One where we belong; the future is bright, the future is defiantly Red. On, Stanley On!

There’s nothing left for the Reds to prove, play hard now and attack hard, give them no peace or opportunity to come back. We’re going up by right.

Doug 05-04-2011 17:44

Cheer's Dan, any chance of a bit of sound tonight.

Re: Southend Thread

Doug, somewhere between none and none mate... Not that the idea is entirely dead in the water, but it's not going to happen this season.

Aside from the old text updates from me, Radio Lancs have regular updates and Sky are sending a reporter so presumably updates from them too.

I believe BBC Essex have commentary if you can get it...

Stanley are again unchanged for this evening's game with Southend United at the Crown Ground.

The Reds are looking for an eighth successive home win.

Stanley: Cisak, Winnard, Edwards, Hessey, Jacobson, Procter, Joyce, Ryan, Craney, McConville, Gornell

Subs: Dunbavin, Long, Barnett, Lindfield, Putterill, Murphy, Boulding

Dan 05-04-2011 18:44

The main stand is a bit of an elbow-fest - tickets for a fiver may well have worked!!!

We are under way at the Crown - Stanley attacking the Clayton End of the ground

Dan 05-04-2011 18:52

Re: Southend Thread

4: McConville just fails to connect with Procter's wayward shot to guide it in

Dan 05-04-2011 18:55

Re: Southend Thread

7: Joyce is denied a first goal in nearly 18 months by a Glen Morris save. Fairly routine though.

I think Proccy's got 7 yellows for the season. You can check on here: BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | A | Accrington | Results.

The FA rules are a bit complicated but you can have a look here: http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/~/media/F...2010-11-v1.pdf (page 330).

Don't take my word for it but I think he's OK.

7 is correct, 3 yellows before end of season and it's a 2 game ban.

Phil Edwards has been on 9 since mid Feb, so Proccy could be a while yet :D

Proctor's yellow card tonuight was poor by the referee.

Just looked at the rule link :-

5 cautions before end of december =1 match suspension
5 cautions before end of season =warning
warning an further five cautions = 2 match suspenson
ten cautions in one season = 2 match suspension

Proccy should be ok but Phil needs to keep a clean sheet
