Seems a sensible appointment.

Now that Bury's out of the way, will JC be linked with the upcoming Rochdale job? Over here in Yorkshire all the 'lower' league football talk is that Keith Hill will be appointed as Barnsley manager later today.

Was on the BBC news yesterday morning that apparently he had changed his mind after turning it down last week.

It was on BBC Look North this morning that Barnsley were announcing it officially at Noon today! Typical football story... it's never a straight tale :D

Thinking about it, Rochdale would be the right move for JC. It would definitely be the step up he's obviously hungry for, and although expectations exist, they aren't so unrealistic that he'd be in immediate danger of being sacked if things didn't go well from the start.

Added to this, Hill has taken almost all his staff with him, so any incoming manager would be able to install their own crew as well.

Agreed. I suppose the only possible stumbling block for them would be the compensation package due to us. Have they received anything from Barnsley for Hill?

most of them fancy an insider for the job, but i can't remember his name. Not Flitcroft, t'uther one?

But then tonights Observer has the Rochdale chairman quoting that they are unlikely to go for an untried inexperienced manager this time (a la Hill) as they 'have moved on as a club and need someone better'

Apparently they've received sufficient compensation move for Coleman and probably go for McConville, Procter and Ryan at the same time.
