Coleman in frame for shakers job
2 way tie for the job between richie barker and john coleman, looking at the timing if it was to be barker we would have had it done and dusted by now, so the money is on coleman.
on a sidenote coleman was 33/1 last nyte with the boookies, he's now dropped down to 10's. Bury Specials Next Permanent Manager Betting Odds | Football Specials Betting |
Re: Coleman in frame for shakers job
Can't help but feel that may have been a factor, along with our poor away form, in our defeat on Sunday :(
He deserves the job, but do many Bury fans like him? |
Re: Coleman in frame for shakers job
Hmmm, probably nothing to do with it, but i felt John Colemans body language didn't look right during the match on Friday night. He just seemed to be stood there impassively. at least on the occasions the Sky cameras showed him anyway.
To be fair though, his after match interview was vintage Coleman and he looked and sounded like a man on a mission. |
Re: Coleman in frame for shakers job
We keep on trundling through these threads year after year; everyone wants our John. This time there's a little bit of distance in John's eyes when you see him on local news or at the games coverage. The wages diabolical, club finances (we had another CCJ last week recorded for May) and the battling over ownership of the club must have left a scar or two. Would he go, I wouldn't blame him or hold it against him, I wouldn't be surprised if he did take a more stable offer. We all know he loves the club and the fans but there is a line in everyman's life; he loves the lads and he would no doubt take some with him. Stanley till he dies, no, that's our cross to carry. I have more important things to ask for in life; but if I could ask anything from John Colman; it would be to stay long enough to lead us up into the Championship.
I would ask the club to make no more promises or talk of pipe dreams; just give John Colman everything he asks for and the rest will be added to that eternal history of the Club that wouldn't die. Accrington Stanley. |

Re: Coleman in frame for shakers job
Dear John (hang on thats a letter you write when someone is leaving)
Dear Sir (hang on, not quite formal enough) Dear Sir John, Please consider that you have upset lots of Bury fans over the years with your frequent comments (usually when they've beaten us) that "they are no better than us". These said fans will no doubt be on your case if you fail to win the first game by more than four clear goals. They will try to hound you out of your job if you are not top of the league by October. Therefore I implore you wait another few days and then apply for the West Ham job. The fans there are much nicer as they are forever blowing bubbles down Green St. Even that other nice man Mr Grant was never hounded, and he was crap. A lot crap in fact. Yours etc macca PS If and when you do leave could you please go somewhere with a few bob in the bank and make frequent visits back to us to pay lots of quids for the players we dont want (it'll give you a bigger kitty for when we welcome you back with open arms). ta |
