Even Murph's suspended...

Kev Long is a LIABILITY. Too tall. Too Irish. Too from Burnley. Only scored three. How many has he let past him? Can't believe he's still in the side to be honest. Obviously one of Coleman's favourites. Jimmy Bell's cousin, I heard.

Ha ha! What you forgot to mention is that the reason he didn't play against Grimsby is that new boss Jim Gannon dropped him, along with several other first teamers because of dire performances in the previous match against Southport, I think. There are plenty of posters on Stockport's forum who are complaining that we got a great deal when they took him off our hands. Does anyone know what fee the tribunal decided on, by the way, and will we ever get paid?

VALAIRIAN 04-12-2011 19:45

How much is it? Let's have a whip round to pay it for 'em to stop him coming back. One of the posters on their board has his number. When asked why he was subbed at half time he said " Because he's a lazy little (please don't use that word again), and only plays when he feels like it." Last thing we need in our team of 110% triers.

I certainly hope that we don’t end up with Sean McConference back at our club.

You should only leave our club for one of two reasons;

1. To progress to a higher level.
2. To get first team football.

He did neither, just went for the MONEY !!!!!

A lot of harsh comments. The lad is a Pro footballer surely he has to go where the money is? The real villains in all this are the Accrington public that Don't go to the game and support the club to enable to hang on to players.

As to the comments about his ability or commitment I am quite happy to back JC on the subject and he signed him and picked him.

I didn't say that, i was refering to the 2 reasons given fer leaving by adding another,;)but as fer the badly advised bit, i doubt very much if Uncle Jimmy advised him to go yon? so in my book that makes him "Stupid" not badly advised?

possibly an interesting legal battle to come?

If McConville comes back here (under the terms of he wasn't paid for), would we be entitled to any ensuing fee if we just pass him straight on?

Or is it just a case of if he returns then it is as a new player, under a new contract, and it is up to us to pursue Stockport for any monies owing at the moment? If that is the case then none of you will need to worry about him coming here as any number of Conference clubs will beat us in a straight race over the contract

Assist on the goal came from Sean McConville.

66:42 GOAL - Joe Connor
Braintree Town 2 - 1 Stockport

Joe Connor finds the back of the net with a headed goal from close in. Braintree Town 2-1 Stockport.

65:40
The ball is crossed by Sean McConville, Danny Rowe takes a shot from 12 yards. Nathan McDonald gets a block in. Corner taken by Sean McConville played to the near post,

Looks like Macca is back on his game!!!!!!!! Just in time, as I liked the look of Smith yesterday and all we need is a wideman to supply him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do I note a hint of trepidation there Red ?.....

I hear..'perhaps he will !!'... 'he just might'....'it's a possibility !!'.... and even ( from someone who should have known better ?)....'he's been sadly missed !!'...so I'm worried too !!
Therefore as all good soccer Managers advise,

"Stop, look and listen; get back to your position. "

Must keep this thread going somehow or other !.

Mike, surely the last two words in your post suggest that the thread needs to stay open!

Too subtle for me, mate, at this time of night. I've now retired permanently from this thread, thank goodness.

Spotted on Stockport County's site...which might be of interest to SOME !!...

At the start of January it looked like a deal for Sean McConville to go back to his old club Accrington was on the cards, but things have now changed with Accrington dropping their interest in the player.
McConville joined County this summer under Didi Hamann and was a signing that lots of fans got excited about. Since coming to the club Sean has made 14 appearances whilst scoring three goals.
Sean will not continue to train with The Hatters and hopes to regain his place in the side as County push on for a successful end to the 2011/2012 season.

So ...who can say what'll happen to our Sean ?? .......
