There's a Jersey based player called Kurtis Guthrie.

EDIT - Just seen the picture in The Telegraph and it looks like the same one.

EDIT/EDIT - It even says the same in the story. So much for my insight! ;)

Well my 2 pence worth.......

Enjoyed the trip, nice to see some old faces again.

Agreed with most of the above comments, thought Guthrie was excellent up front, along with the Left Back and the ex Wigan lad in midfield.

Obviously it was ONLY against Radcliffe, who where VERY poor (apart from their number 12 and keeper), but was nice to see the reds in action.

If I was Coley id offer a trail to their keeper Nick Culkin, who I thought looked class despite letting 4 in. You dont play for Man U and QPR if you dont have talent?? Worth a shot, hes only 33.

Roll on the trip to the seaside on Saturday.

York Hotel for a full English I reckon :)

I like this time of year when we start to see the green shoots of another Coley season on season improvement miracle start to come through.

Not to mention the hope it offers these triallists.

Chris Guthrie played for the mid seventies Sheffield United teams.

I beleive one has caught the eye more than the other but it's difficult to split them, they certainly have 2 different styles.

Re: Off to a Good Start

Dave,I thought they both did ok,but its hard to impress in pre-season. If i had to choose,i would say the lad in the second half was more effective, but the "Jay mcEvilly" lookalike, was a bit stronger, but as Deano has found, they dont tend to go for young centre-backs in league 2,so they would probably have to play fullback for a while, and the second lad would make a better go of that.

I wouldn't expect either of them to go straight in to the first 11 due to their lack of experience, but I reckon if they get them as squad players they could both be useful and would be capable of holding their own when given the chance ( does that sound contradictory ? :) )

As you say Lynchy ( the 2nd half one ) is slightly more versatile than the Jay lookalike who is built more for stopping opponents than playing round them :D

Dave, thats how i saw it.As i have said before you need a massive amount of luck to progress, and hope at least one gets offered something, but you dont know what players are on Coleys radar.
