Re: Guthrie signs!
Wonderful news. With all this positive stuff on here,he must be really exciting. Welcome to the 'Stanley Family' Kurtis. Already we are connected 'cause our home ground here at my local football club is in fact Guthrie Park. Hail Kurtis .

Re: Guthrie signs!
I think Kurtis floated back to his hotel tonight he was so excited... A really nice young fella who can't believe he's now a footballer.
Tomorrow on the fishy site there will be video from him and Mr. Coleman from after today's game. Who said that site never gets updated eh? Hehehe... |

Re: Guthrie signs!
Great news, was well impressed with him at Radcliffe the other night, yeah he,s only young but certainly seemed to have the skills of an older striker and I,m sure the stanley family will take to him straight away.
Looks like Coley may have pulled a rabbit out of the hat again. Good luck Kurtis and welcome aboard the good ship stanley. |

Re: Guthrie signs!
Am good mates with Kurtis back in Jersey and I tell you what you boys have signed some player. Absolutely stand out over here and he's only 18, played in age groups of the island muratti this year because his performances in every game were superb. Played against him plenty of times and for a big lad his grace on the ball is remarkable, an absolute natural footballer. Saw him bend one in from 30 yards in a big game only a couple of weeks ago.
His family have got a good sporting pedigree as his sister is one of the England netball team's best players. I honestly think he is potentially Premier League quality, just so hard to get spotted over here. Think the next couple of years will be massive for him, wish him and your club all the best hopefully be the start of something special. Be excited... |

Re: Guthrie signs!
I share the optimism Mab but League Two for this season will be I think a tougher League than the past few which will throw up a lot of long journeys for the Reds but I also think will prove to be a very good footballing league.
The squad is shaping up well so far with a mix of old faces, new faces, experience, established Football League players & also youthfulness. It's been tough to watch established players leave and numbers become depleted during the early part of the summer but the signings so far have given us an insight into what we can expect for the coming season from a Stanley perspective we are no longer the new kids on the block from a team perspective we are an established League Two side and in particular the two more experienced signings so far I think prove that? Last seasons style of play was so pleasing on the eye it was "Total Football" but maybe our undoing at times was against the more physical teams where time factors with teams pressing hard did not give us the opportunity to get it down and play it but hopefully we will have the mix of players to be able to change the style if it's needed this season and look to grind and see results out. Survival is obviously the first port of call but there is no reason why we can't push on from there and who knows maybe perhaps even surpass last season's finish?:) |
Re: Guthrie signs!
I've missed something somewhere..the Fishy site says, in the report on signing Guthrie, that he joins McIntyre and DANNY COID as new additions. When did Danny sign?

Re: Guthrie signs!
I wonder how on earth Coley spotted or knew about him?!??
Maybe he has secret spies everywhere :) |
