Re: Ian Moore

A very good player, Burnley's first Million Pound Man if I remember rightly?

Would be a very good signing if it was to come to fruition a player with bags of League experience who our two younger strikers could learn a lot from.

Fingers crossed on this one:)

Re: Ian Moore

His name is actually Ian Thomas-Moore ( can Stanley afford so many letters for his shirt ? ) :D

Not unlike Franny Jeffers, a player who moved around several clubs for large fees and never really realised his full potential. Unfortunatley one of the main memories of him as a Burnley player was not what he did but what was in a match report once. His ball control was likened to a dog trying to catch a balloon :D

If they can get him cheap enough he would add some experience, and of course he is a scouser

Would be a very good signing. We're in desperate need of an experienced attacker. Think I'm right in saying he doubles as a winger and a striker so a role in the 'attacking three' may suit him down to the ground.

I think he started out as a central striker but Burnley kept shoving him out on the wing because of his pace

Re: Ian Moore

Apparently hes turned a few clubs down and hes looking for a club 30-45 min from home an preferably still in the league.

Was on Radio Lanc's this morning, starting training with us looking for a contact. He is 34 years old,if legs are still good, could be a good signing if only to help the young lads.

The only thing I can remember of him Dave, didn't he score the disallowed goal against the Rovers when we won 5-0 ;)

There's more on the BBC site, including a report of an interview with Coley:
BBC Sport - Ian Thomas-Moore trains with Accrington Stanley

The article also mentions that we're trying to sign former Shamrock Rovers and Sligo player, Padraig Amond, on a loan deal from Portuguese side, Paços de Ferreira:

Re: Ian Moore

he tweeted me last night about it, he said 'just been asked to train first, see what happens.'

Re: Ian Moore

Ronnie Moore's son kept on coming up on Google yesterday when I was looking for this chap.

Ian Moores - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anyone remember him? Stoke Tottenham Bolton and Orient and England under 23.

Well a few relatives of mine have died in Biddulph Staffordshire and being at at loose end I looked a few of them up in the town cemetery.

Came across a grave with a football on it saying Ian Moores died aged 43. The Gentle Giant. It was very sad. Remember him often on the telly in the seventies and eighties. Died of lung cancer.

Pretty sure Padraig had a trial with Sheffield Wednesday earlier in the summer.

Howe says he is looking to bring a forward in which suggest he isn't going to chance his arm with Fletch. I can't figure it all out but then nothing is straight forward over there at the moment

Maybe,Maybe not, never got the chance to find out, the fact remains wi 25-30 mins to go the lads looked knackered, Fresh Legs may have helped. same at N'hants so some of the lads have said.

There's a lot of logic in that. Will save strengthening the midfield because with 4 forwards you have to hoof it up from the back. Will also protect the pitch too. Win Win :D:D

Well in Howe's bid to finally get Bournemouth promoted to the Championship by moving all the players to Burnley, they have agreed a fee for the Bournemeouth striker Ings. That must surely tell Wes he ain't going to be used.

What's happened to Symes? Not even on the bench today - is he injured?
