Good summary Smudgie. Couldn't agree more about the young idiots behind the Clayton End abusing Roche - GROW UP. The match statistics showing our 25 shots on goal(17 on target), against Morecambe's 15 (7 on target) don't really reflect the run around they gave us in the second half, although we lapsed into our default defence panic under pressure mode by hoofing out or presenting them with the ball. Having said that, they really didn't carve out any meaningful chances despite their good possession. An entertaining game, and a fair result. I just wish Craney hadn't wastefully gone for glory twice at the end instead of using his better placed team mates. Very poor!

One of those near the end was Barnett, He should have squared the ball wi 2 forwards waiting.

Maybe - eyesight's not as good as it used to be.

A fair result in the end, but you really battered us in the first 45 and we were lucky to go in 1-0 with still all to play for in the second half, and so it proved.

Liked the look of both your forward loanees, but I'd be worried if and when the rules concerning loanees change.

Have to say that your manager never shut up throughout but the majority of it was lost in translation due to a throat infection?;) However he's obviously in the process of changing your style which I've always admired.

Only consultation for me is that you are still below us but you've a game in hand!

Thought the first 45 mins are the best ive seen from Stanley, If that standard can be maintained fer 90, theres no-body to touch em in league 2.

Don't worry, C.C. I'm sure Cooky will take it in his stride.

Unless I missed anything particularly offensive, I think that giving the keeper stick is par for the course. It's part of football, and as long as they take it in their stride and have a laugh with it (thinking Roberts as an example), it's all part of the fun. IMO.

As for the Jimmy Harvey song, I couldn't agree more. I couldn't quite believe people had gone along with that with the timing as it is.

As for the match, as others have said - game of two halves. We were brilliant in the first half but one goal was never going to be enough. They were always going to come at us in the second half and we ended up second best apart from one or two late efforts. Still think we're heading in the right direction. :)

Don't know about that, Red. Seeing kids of about 12 giving the 'W' gesture and shouting the appropriate word makes me sick, for one.

I can understand that, to be fair. I'm not overly fond of it myself, but it'd be hypocritical of of me to correct them as I'm not exactly a great role model in that area. I still stand by my post however from an adult giving stick point of view.

Found it funny when Cooky turned round and apologised to the moaning old Twits :end:
After they complained about his use of a Naughty word .

Re: Morecambe Match Thread................

Certainly was a game of two halves, but I can't remember Nicholls having a save to make in the second half. I thought we defended very well and looked very compact, which made Morecambe shoot from range or try to get around us along the wings, which they only managed a couple of times. It did mean that we hoofed it up field to no-one in that half, but when we broke with the ball we were very impressive.

A very encouraging display, even though we were wasteful in front of goal (and Roche made some great saves). For the second game in a row, the away team only scored because of a central defensive howler. My man of the match: Danny Coid.

That doesn't surprise me. I wasn't there last night but, on Saturday, I thought Danny had an outstanding match.

For me personally, Coidy could still be playing for Blackpool if it wasnt for injuries.

No doubt he is a massive asset.

Praying he stays fit till the end of the campaign :)
