One player wants to stay
Amond: I would give up Portugal to join Stanley (From Lancashire Telegraph)

That said, the player does seem very happy here and grateful to the club for putting a smile back on his face. That can go a long way. Not only that, Cook's positive coaching seems to be working a treat for the entire squad.

I would Kevin Keegan it (love it, just love it) if Podge signed on next season. Quality player, great lad.

Good news about Podge, the lad has a terrific attitude, and seems to have made great mates with the lads in the squad.

He may not be a 20 a goal a season man, but for me is a good addition to the squad.

Question is, will Pacos want a fee.

Phil Jevons has been released from Morecambe - Knocking on a bit, but knows where the goal is and maybe worth looking at for a season or two.

Re: Out Of Contract Players

Morecambe fans are glad Jevons has gone. The goals dried up after his first season. Not good enough for the Shrimps? Definitely not good enough for us.

I think Padraig has been a real asset to Stanley works hard and does the selfless stuff for the team.

I really do hope there is a way to keep hold of him and I also think we would score more goals with a front two but I am old fashioned when it comes to formation with 4-4-2 every time.

Was interesting to see a couple of Burnley youngsters training at the club yesterday, looks like Cooky is on the player hunt already :)

Not sure about the 4-4-2 thing anymore Pendle, looking at last season playing the 1 front man worked a treat :)

Re: Out Of Contract Players

Smudge don't disagree about last season but we played with no real width then more a revolving midfield which weighed in with a lot of goals which with wide players at the moment we have struggled to bag goals.

4-4-2 old fashioned? What happened to 2-3-5, half-backs and inside forwards?:)

And leather boots with toe caps, dubbin, and full backs whose preferred method of tackling was to put the winger over the surrounding wall ...?

Happy days .........:D
