Terrible
I am angry at that result Coley YOU have to turn this around r its ur head for the chopping board! these results just r not good enough If these results are not turned around we will be relegated!!! The standard of the games is terrible We have no passion, no fight, no skill, we r terrible. How do u expect the fans to get behind the team with these performances...
 THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH COLEMAN:mad: |
Re: Terrible
i can here them coming now... its the opinion haters! watch out STEVEN
|
Re: Terrible
Have to disagree. we narrowly lost to a league one side with players of the calibre of David Eyres, Jermaine Johnson Matt Appelby and Scott Vernon. We were badly compramised when our only left back was injured and had no replacement. Howver I'll have to wait until anyone who went to the match returns to serve final judgemnet.

Re: Terrible
but i agree theres no effort (apart from a few, especially cookey) and coley needs to get that back or he shud go!
|
Re: Terrible
agree, not a bad score but i'm goin off games i'v seen. and we threw away a 2-1 lead
|
Re: Terrible
I dont care they cant take my FREEDOM of speech
hehehehe |
Re: Terrible
Yeah maybe we did lose to a 2nd division side but come on the performances of late are just not good enough
Cooky doesnt play with any conviction he is past it and we should let loose quick |
Re: Terrible
so STEVEN if you were JOHN coleman what wud u do?
|
Re: Terrible
Jump of a cliff hehehehe
No id get rid of Paul cook(weve got naff allio) for a start then i would have a seriuos search for a new forward and two wingers or get lutel playing up front instead of a new forward he scored over 20 goals for us last season then id bring back howson and change the dreaded 4-5-1 to a desent 4-4-2 and play players in there rightful poistions where they enjoy because thats when they relax and will play ther best football After that i would try to let the team gel as a unit and stop making un forced errors Just my opinion!!!! |
Re: Terrible
steven if you are talking about tonights game at oldham you are very silly, stupid, idiotic, etc.
You did not even go so how can you talk about the performance.:( My family have come back from the game and say we played really well :) And if it was not for a couple of dodgy ref's decision's we would have deservedly won:) Really good news for us all:) Steven I am taking a karma point for your stupid post (in my opinion) |
Re: Terrible
The lads were unlucky tonight 2-1 up and threw it away with two similar goals :( right at the end.The support was fantastic but we should have been able to hang on against 10 men you would think ??
P.S. I'm not blaming the keeper but can I just ask has anyone ever seen him make a save ???? Cos I haven't hehehehe :) |
Re: Terrible
I was listening to Coley on Radio Lancashire on the way to the game and he was saying that the lads need to win over the fans as a lot of them had lost of confidence in the players and basically it was affecting their play.
We're all entitled to our opinion, but being a "supporter" means supporting the team. When your team needs your help to lift their confidence and morale, you support them. If Steven had been there, he would have known that the Stanley supporters never stopped singing and sang their Oldham rivals out of the ground. We supported the team and the team responded. Yes, there were a few hairy moments in defence against a very tricky number 11 and Butler was left hopelessly exposed against two players for most of the match, but the Stanley players did us proud tonight. If we play with that passion and skill on Saturday against Exeter and against Northwich the following weekend, we will be much higher than joint-5th in the league and that is far more important than results in tin-pot cup matches. It's not about 'blind faith' or whatever, but supporting the team when they need you most. Tonight was a good performance, let's help them make Saturday's even better! |
Re: Terrible
Dear Steven and/or accystankev,
In my day there was a person called Mary Whitehouse who was against a lot of things she'd never seen, like tonights match in your case. She didn't have opinions, she had an agenda. She was for censorship, I am not. I can only advise that you both(?) get out a bit more, Oldham would have done for starters. Travel broadens the mind, I am told. |
Re: Terrible
Two one up and playing against ten men, what do we do ? We take off a defender and bring on a midfielder - just to accommodate Paul Cook. This decision lost us the game. Butler was waiting to come back on after receiving treatment, the trainer signalled to the bench that Butler was O.K., but they took no notice - on came Cook. Another opportunity to progress in a cup competition thrown away.
|
Re: Terrible
I agree with Jeff about the decision to bring on Cook - that along with Smithy only coming on for 2 minutes at the end & the ludricous penalty decision cost us the match. Having said that the lads played their hearts out tonight and it's a damn shame that they're not in the next round because they certainly deserved to be.

Re: Terrible
Glad to see Craney had his shooting boots on again (was this because there was a certain Mr. Cook missing). Let's hope we play like this against Exeter on Saturday - or is the tinkerman going to mess things up again by changing the team, formation, and performance.

Re: Terrible
OK im sorry for that it was a moment of madness after the game as accystankev will back me up i diserved to lose karma but i just wish the people who took it would be man enough to leave ther names as jase did and so i have give him good karma
Once again sorry it just really upset me that we lost again but from the reports i have now relised the players played with heart and played really well!!! I now hope we can play the same an saturday against exeter But to the comment on why did u not go i had commitments at home so i couldnt and also i didnt know the details till to late to organise it Well done lads but why did we bring on cooky does he get a appearence bonus because smithy should have come on instead of him |
Re: Terrible
steven, i must admit we are rubbish, but steady on lad. i must admit we are lacking just about everything right now, but saying we lost to a second division side?? how much difference do u really think there is between second, third and the full time conference sides? there's not much between them, conference and division two sides are as distant as arsenal and southampton in terms of quality. p.s. stanley havent improved at all since last season, and to be fair last season we didnt improve on 02/03!
|
Re: Terrible
A more positive Accy side turned out last night and they played with heart, passion
and comittment and we were unlucky to lose. Well Done Lads :) Stanley fans backed the team 200% and out sang the Oldham fans all the way :wave8: |
Re: Terrible
it makes me wonder how steven can say we were rubbish last night has he didnt go
but maybe if he did go he wouldnt have started this thread well done stanley just keep it up agaist exeter |
Re: Terrible
Brilliant performance tonight by the boys in red.
As others have said ow can you judge the team's performance if you are a part time supporter?? I could argue many points off many posts on this topic but I'm not going to waste my time........ |
Re: Terrible
Well, it looks like I might lose some Karma as well. How can any team leading against 10 men contrive to lose. Bring on Cooky apparently. O.K. I couldn't go due to work commitments, but it seemed to me that at this moment in time we are great at snatching defeats from the jaws of Victory. Yes I am a part time fan again mostly due to work commitments, but even I am losing the faith with the tactics served up by the management. You only have to read this and other threads to realise the team is not good enough in the 4-5-1 formation and it is about time it was changed for the better. It is no good saying it can be adapted to 4-4-2 because we are too busy defending and doing that badly. Great news to hear Hacker's back. Lets hope it strengthens a leaky ship. Please feel free to have a go at me, but all the above is my honest opinion, maybe Dave Jones can give Coley some lessons.

we were playing a good team and matched them most of the game but in the last 15 theyre professionalism showed. and we couldnt match it. cant blame the ref too much he had an ok game, and to be honest anyone doubting why smithy came on musnt of been there cause when he was upfront as a target man he won all the headers and got them to mullin who was unlucky not to convert in the dieing minutes. |
Re: Terrible
Despite the result, I had to laugh at the beginning of this thread - Steven and AccyStanKev getting themselves worked up into a lather of indignation about a match neither of them had seen! Pure Monty Python! Perhaps they can go one better now and start voicing their disgust about the Exeter match before it's played!
The spirit of Jon Tickle lives on! |
Re: Terrible
At oldham was the best stanley have played for a while but in the last 15 minutes or so the difference in the sides showed. It is just a pity that they can rise their game against the better sides but not against teams like leigh, tamworth etc
|
Re: Terrible
I suggest all you folks voicing indignation about what the lead opinion is about check out the report in the Evening Telegraph on Wednesday night, because everything that Steve and I have said, even though we weren't there is in full but voiced by none other than John Coleman!. I reiterate, how can any team contrive to lose when they are playing a team (regardless of which division they are in) when they are down to 10 men. O.K. so the performance improved, but and this is a big but, it has to be over 90 minutes not 65 or 70. We are now a professional team, so tiredness cannot surely be brought up as an excuse.
